You have to take the rough with the smooth😁👍
This. It’s late September, not April, and there is so much to look forward to. We know we’ll lose a few along the way, even the rich 6 get trounced by same score line time to time.

Terrible result and they should be refunding all those fans that travelled.
Double the points!

Now on stationary m40, 100 yds behind the road closure. Must drive faster.

Hope the accident not too bad, two fire engines suggests otherwise sadly

How can people already be on about amount of games. FFS, we've played 9 in all competitions. This is not an excuse at this time of year. The manager and players have to take responsibility. I'm sure they will and let's hope we get it back on track v Marseille on Thursday.

I don’t understand the formation. RDZ is all about keeping the ball but yet he went 2 up top gifting them the midfield, so strange

I feel the the midfield were hung out to dry a bit tbh. Everyone knows Villa are strong and physical in midfield yet he plays Hinshelwood on his debut and Gilmour isn’t exactly the worlds strongest man. How were they ever going to compete?

I know his options are pretty limited but a 3rd midfielder might have helped and Baleba is at least powerful.

This’ll dampen down some of the hype. We’re a very good footballing team but f*** me we’ve lost some BITE in midfield. Watkins deflected 4th completely killed the game and heads went down. Very bad day at the office.
Can't understand why Baleba didn't start or at least subbed on at half time. They were winning every challenge.

Yes, it’s very very disappointing but some people are being a bit too dramatic about it. We’re entitled to a couple of atrocious results a season. I still think Everton 1-5 was worse last year. Remember people, we’ve won 5 out of 7 league games so far this season. That’ll do me.

I sat this one out and did something with the family instead. I’ll just say again that I’d rather have a half arsed Caicedo than £115 million.

How you’re supposed to pick a decent functioning midfield from what we had available I’ve no idea.

Just a very bad day at the office. Even Dunk was poor.

That’s just daft. Liverpool are favourites for Europa League, but we’re definitely one of the 2-3 teams that can upset them and we should go deep in that tournament. Joint second favourites weren’t we?

It’s just a case of making too many changes.
We simply don’t have the strength in depth. We are not Liverpool.

I think us getting tipped as second favourites was everyone getting carried away and stats based on last year’s squad.

I’m not saying everything’s a disaster, I’m just saying we should focus on our bread and butter - the league. That’s not daft, that’s sensible.

I would rather finish 12th and get to euro semis than finish 8th and give up on Europa.

It’s not just the physical recovery part it’s the mental switching off one result and quickly resetting for the next as well as lack of preparation time.

This is nothing new all clubs/squads of our size who compete in the European competitions inevitably take a bit of a hit in the league and we have seen a glimpse of that today.

To give an idea of realistic ambition, USG won their group and got through to the QFs last season. We are better and have more depth than USG, so writing off the EL is just silly in favour of finish a few places higher in the PL - which we’ve zero chance of winning.

Agree. There's just so many on here saying we should write of the Europa to finish 6th or 7th. Madness
