QUESTION - why do we play better away? might understand it if there were home fans and baying for blood at home but there aint.

Think there's still the psychology of teams being more attack minded at home. We struggle to break teams down due to a lack of pace (apart from Lamptey, obviously), so when we play away we see teams attack us more which suits us.

Very good. Did you watch the game though? We were lucky to win albeit against a good Villa side (we're due alot of luck!). I posted that comment as was pissed off that he brought on a centre back for Lallana when he has two young and gifted centre midfielders on the bench. It's an opinion. I'm still praying we win rather than wait until the end of the game to mouth off like some being wise after the event.

We totally controlled the second half. We were overrun at times in the first, but we also had chances.
All the neutrals are calling it a deserved win.

That was so. so , so satisfying.....

The only minor complaint was BTsport did not interview either Grealish or Dean Smith post match

Someone said to me that softly spoken Dean Smith comes across as a gentle bloke.

I think there’s a Nigel Pearson in there somewhere, it’s a facade, he’s ready to explode.

Stayed off NSC as heart can’t take it.

Welbeck outstanding.
Clear and obvious error on pen, March played the ball.
Grealish great player but basically a cheat....
Maupay and Webster bit dodgy. Dunk got stronger. Gross excellent

More or less all of this.

I'd also have Lamptey in the "outstanding" category and the "unlucky" one. Never should have gone. Grealish cheating like he always does. Also Maupay had a bits and pieces game (maybe what you meant) but did a lot of dirty work in the first half that was pretty much not acknowledged on commentary. He needs to score again to restore his confidence where it counts though.

potter's done well today, hasn't he

Great win but fortunate. We've been due something like that. Want Potter to succeed as it's easy on the eye but still think we're unessarily soft (Don't want us to be like Burnley!) and don't enjoy watching four centre backs on even before BDB. If Potter is relying on a right from shot from March then that's worrying.

He’s the only reason to watch England atm.
I love the way he dribbles past opponents.
Yes, there’s the diving....but blame the game not the player.

He gets fouled more than Zaha because he's much better than Zaha. And then he gets up.

And I dislike Zaha because he's a whiney sour-faced tumbling pillock. Not even anything to do with the Alice. I admired Vince Hillaire. There is nothing admirable about Zaha.

I know that onlt 5% of NSC will agree with this but sock boy is an excellent player. He looks the business playing for England. Bit harder with the duffers at Villa, but he really is decent. Maupay dives more when contacted - but less often in a game because he doesn't play the same position as sockboy and sees much less of the ball.
Meh, blokes an arse

Yep, reckon you're right there. He's probably keying Michael Oliver's car as we type :lolol:

I haven't heard that to be fair. Glenn Johnson bizarrely felt that was a penalty? Said a point was fair result. I ted to agree on the chances they missed first half. Thought we defended reasonably well and contained the spaces in the second half a bit.

For the non pen Trezeguet leaps like a salmon from barely any touch. He should be booked for simulation.

A very good performance. Welbeck was class throughout.

Rode our luck a fair bit as you'd expect, but could have scored more goals ourselves.

I think Lamptey was harshly dealt with. I also think Grealish physically picking Veltman up by the shirt was worthy of more than a yellow - the little shitbag clearly thinks he should be in charge. Might be a great player but unless you're a Villain, he will always be that diving, cheating twunt.

Off to open a bottle now.

Have to say thought Maupay was a '10' at giving them the wind up. I know he didn't score but he really is a pain to play against and covers a lot of ground. Also was part of the Wellbeck goal.

I was more concerned with our defenders especially Webster , not sure how he really fits in when playing White in defence.
