Disappointing but nobody remembers who won the thing once the fixtures are out like the season we finished second to Southampton !!

It's fine to be gutted, but calling this team bottlers or spineless??? ****ing hell it's beyond belief.

Guess what, we're going to get absolutely battered quite a few times next season so you may as well **** off now and support another club if this is how you react to the team getting promoted to the premier league.

Would you have called the team bottlers if they finish 2nd last season? no you ****ing wouldn't.

Those of us who are here at Villa Park are proud of the team. Those whining go **** yourselves. If you saw how devastated the players are you'd shut the **** up. ***** the lot of you.

This in spades - we are promoted to the premier league and the players showed guts to achieve that. They came up a little short for the trophy but deserve all the thanks in the world for getting us to the top flight.

Let's all turn up next sunday and express our gratitude and give them a lift before they go on a well deserved holiday for the summer.

People in here criticising the manager, players, tactics! Ffs we are going up! We are in the premier league. Get a f**king grip of yourselves. No one can be disappointed in this season and anyone who is needs to remember how we were feeling this time last year!

Stockdale always has a mistake in him, that's a howler. Don't care if he goes

Unbelievable, the blokes made 4 or 5 good saves before the goal & kept us in it.
Plenty of players could have done better before Grealish shot.

I had a déjà vu moment midway through the second half.

It felt like one of those games from a couple of seasons ago.
Stocko keeps us in it with a string of excellent saves, then finally something gives, and the usual trolls crawl out to call him shite.

Stockdale only partly to blame. Once again no sense of urgency in closing down their attack.

Do you think that will make him feel any better? He'll be devastated, absolutely devastated. It's a terrible way for him to finish what has been a magnificent season for him and will probably haunt him for a long, long time. He doesn't deserve it. The poor bloke.

This. I really fear for some of the posters on here when we are stuffed 5-0 at Etihad or Stamford Bridge. In the heat of the moment people are just forgetting what's the game is about. To say there was no effort today is just crass frustration. Get a grip folks, we may not have been good enough but it wasn't lack of effort.

Looking at it objectively I don't care about finishing 2nd, we are up and it's amazing. Subjectively though I am really pissed off, the total lack of professionalism from the team these last three games has been pathetic. To have the balls to look devastated after that is unbelievable, they are 100% to blame for going on the piss and mentally checking out after Wigan.

Brighton / Hove actually
so so silly to invite them on like that, when Grealish approached the box there was 7 or so of our players just standing in a line 12 yards from the goal.

It's probably easier to say this when you haven't just run 9 or 10 miles. You can close someone down and they could still skip past if your leggy.
