I think the joke was that 'Is it Fasi?' is just like 'Is it far?', leading to the witty reply 'It’s in the UAE so it’s not exactly closei'.

You really don't know what a pun is, do you? The one undeniable fact about what I posted is that it was a pun. Whether or not it was funny is neither here nor there. It was a play on words that sound similar but have different meanings. The literal dictionary definition of a pun.
