To sign for Real, good move for him and gets him out of the media circus in the UK.

Great move for him, I think he will show what a world class player he is at the Bernabeu and hopefully he can also get his personal life back on track.

La Liga is going to be sensational next season.

the more players that get out of the premiership and experience playing abroad the better

Hopefully he'll get paid a wage he truly deserves now instead of the pittance he was receiving at Chelsea.

one of the failed England World Cup Squad and he is being bought for £30,000,000

To be fair I'd say he was prob the only regular player in the WC for us that came out with credit - may be a few others but Cole did OK.

Great move for him. Don't like him as a person, but can only respect the fact that he's leaving his 'comfort zone' and trying to better himself as a player (and line his pockets in the process no doubt).

I thought he was Englands best player in the last two World Cups to be honest, but it is price tags like £30,000,000 which give players massive egos, act like knobs and demand ridiculous amounts of unjustifiable wages a week.

He despises this country and he despises the english people, so its hardly surprising he's offski.

Agreed. They should cap wages at 5k a wk for the top, top players in my opinion. And cap transfer fees at 10 million for the very best...

Football has changed so much - after watching the Gazza documentry a few weeks ago I was disappointed with the realisation of how our great sport has changed for the wrose

My Gooner mate told me about this - a message to his mate that got out or something? Is it actually true?

Personally I don't care about him one jot, I just want the focus to switch to La Liga etc and away from the Premiershite so we can play more English players at a higher level and create a very real need to develop more talent at home.

I think boycotting Sky and cutting of some of the money supply could be the best thing to happen to English football and our national team.

I'm sure plenty of people have said something like that at some time or other.

I don't like Ashley Cole myself. Seems like a bit of a twat. But he's a great player. In relation to that quote, he also said something like 'I always give my all for Chelsea and England but all I get is stick' (I'm paraphrasing). And I reckon he does. He is one of the best left backs in the world. He then gets crucified in the media constantly and abused by fans on a regular basis. Can hardly blame him for getting pissed off with it, however much money you earn before that gets dragged up.

Anyway, hope he is the first of many English players to go play abroad and be a success. Roll on 2018. (2014 is a shoe in for Brazil)

For me I think it stems back to when his autobiography came out, and he chose to reveal how he nearly crashed his car on hearing that Arsenal were ONLY offering to up his wages to £60k a week.
He then proceeded to insult everyones intelligence by claiming that a meeting in a hotel between him, his agent, Mourinho and Kenyon was merely a "chance" meeting, and they just had a "general discussion" about football. Yah. Okaaaay.

OK he's not alone in being an overpaid prick, but he does seem to be utterly self-absorbed and on a completely different planet to the majority of the human race.
