Brett Lee has just hit the biggest 6 I have seen since Viv Richards smacked Paul Parker for 6 over Ashdown Court.

Latest score is 188 - 9

As someone who has a passing interest in cricket, could someone explain to me the thinking behind Welsh players representing England. Does this eligibility come from the fact that Glamorgan compete in the County Championship? Could N.Irish or Scots represent England? - I thought Wales and Scotland (and N.Ireland?) had their own national teams, albeit ones that weren't of a standard to play Test cricket.

I wouldn't have thought many replica England tops get sold in the Principality!

Well we have Australians and South Africans in the team so who cares?

We are a multicultural society with a multicultural cricket team

Cricket like rubgy has very flexible rules when it comes to representing your country. We have had the likes of David Gower, Allan Lamb, the Smith brothers, pieterson etc that were all born outside of the british Isles but still qualified for England by living here for a certain amount of years and by playing in the county championship. Rugby is the same with the likes of Robby and Henry Paul both representing England and New Zealand and correct me if I am wrong but I believe Johnny Wilkinson was not born in England either.

The Rules are laid down by the ICC.

The qualifications include nationality, place of birth or place of residence

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

A cricketer is qualified to play Representative Cricket for a Member Country of which he is a national or, in cases of non-nationals, in which he was born provided that he has not played representative Cricket for any other Member Country during the 4 immediately preceding years.

A player who has resided for a minimum of 183 days in a Member Country in each of the 4 immediately preceding years shall be a ‘deemed national’ of that country for the purpose of these Rules.

Member Countries may not field more than 2 players in any one team who are 'deemed nationals'.

A player who has resided in a Member Country for a minimum of 183 days in each of the 7 immediately preceding years shall be classified as a national rather than a ‘deemed national’ of that Member Country.

57 - 1 in their 2nd innings. I still think this game could be close but fingers crossed I am wrong.

This isn't going quite as well as I'd hoped.

Starting to doubt we'll get a result now.

They could just keep batting and batting, then we're f***ed

Don't start all that yet! It can all change in the space of a few balls, Jones showed that earlier! They are still 150 runs behind FFS. Two quick wickets and it's all change again. They really need to score another 400 in this innings to make it a contest and I think with our attack that is beyond their reach.

Have faith!

You wanna start raving about their batting Chappers. Always worth a wicket or two with our batsmen, so why not theirs too?
