Who are England's top two scorers in the series?
Pietersen and Carberry?
Correct, one who is widely derided as not bothered and unfit to wear the shirt. The other a desperate selection which in retrospect has to probably be seen as a mistake.
Just about says it all
After sitting through the horror show at the MCG I'm hoping my vist to the SCG will see us actually man up but I won't be holding my breath.

The last whitewash saw two respectable averages from Pietersen and Collingwood. Not much to crow about this time. Cook has improved though (thus far).
Over half Colly's runs were scored in one innings. Great innings mind you...
Ah yes. I had forgotten about that.

10 centuries including two double centuries.
I do think that Pietersen applied himself much better in the 4th test - for all his talk that he wouldn't change. Carberry has become more withdrawn as the series has progressed after a promising start. As a batting unit they haven't been anything like good enough
Australia quite obviously had plans for most of the England batsmen which worked pretty well, about the only fairly unknown player was Carberry and as they only had him to work out, it took them the first 3 Tests. Easy to figure how to get one man out when you have the other 10 figured out.
It's weird that Carberry has played a lot of first class cricket and no-one figured out this round the wicket weakness.
Is anyone actually going to bother stopping up tonight to watch? Not sure I can be arsed.
