i thought we were discussing, why doesn't bielsa work his magic with just anyone, you for example?

As it happens I had a trial at Southampton when I was 15...and got rejected :(

So Bielsa's about 50 years too late in my case...he's good but not that good

what about the kids southampton reject each year, there must be quite a few.

if he took on ten a year, and sold each one for £50M; that would be.......................... a lot of money, it's a no brainer

**** me you talk total and utter bollocks all the time . Philips was one of our best players at the euro and was not the reason we lost the final
Can’t wait for your Potter out and we are going down posts after 2 minutes of the new season

My little brother is a Leeds supporter (true fact), and he thinks you're shitehouse.

How many times did you actually see him play at Leeds - and live is better than TV? Bielsa encouraged him to start the attacking move, something I rarely saw him do for Brighton as he never really played in the middle of defence. Leeds realised his potential and Brighton have cashed in on it.

Kinell………the levels of fcckwittery some of you lot display really doesn’t have any limits does it.

re: "should have gone to a better club than Arsenal"... Arsenal is going to be a better club than Arsenal if they keep making good signings.

Yup I thought he was really good for England.

Being brutal about it, I don't think we're not going to win a European Championship or a World Cup with our current midfield. His work rate is exceptional and I think he's a brilliant personality but we don't retain the ball and control the game. I thought he was good but limited when compared to the best midfielders. Spain dominated possession against Italy and we couldn't keep the ball. We have a fair distance to go.

Ben Whites £50 million transfer fee is higher than every transfer fee Albion have received in total in their 116 year history .

You don't rate Veltman then?

We will be less one top quality player when this goes through.

So the squad is considerably weaker. It ain't rocket science.

And when others come in we get stronger again hopefully, with about 20 mill in TBs or the clubs coffers with any luck.

Should we just have held onto him (and/or others) forever?

But others haven't come in. We will have a weaker squad when he leaves.

I don't wish to jinx this deal but Ben White isn't even our best defender. I'm sure he will have a great career at Arsenal. A bit of a moment for us, selling one player for more than we sold all the players we ever sold put togther. And, exhale and jog on. Nothing to see here.

Seeing the name is reassuring seeing the avatar is quality hearing that we have more in the shed is priceless :)

I am half a kilo lighter now that I was an hour ago. Modesty precludes an explanation. After breakfast tomorrow I will be 200 g heavier. And so it goes.

When you factor age and potential into it, BW is clearly our best defender, He's a better player then Dunk was at 23. £50m is a good deal for us in this market, another year and we'd of got £65m.

The player wants to go mate, our whole business model now is developing these players, getting good use out of them at PL level and if they stay, great, but if we can make a massive profit on them we take that, and reinvest in the next 4 or 5. A few of those flop, a few do okay and one becomes another Ben White. We sell for massive profit. Repeat.

Hard to realise the market value of a player when the club has just been relegated.

Edit: just saw you wrote 'we'd of got'.

I'm out.
