In amongst the worship of White’s ability and having watched the WHU vs Albion game again over the weekend there is no way that he is currently a top six defender yet. He has been brilliant at times but he has also been very naive on other occasions imo, he still has too many mistakes in him and is he good enough in the air?

Ridiculous money aside and assuming he is not going to agitate to get away the best thing for him and us is another season at the Albion.

Maybe I am the naive one

You got to remember it’s his first season in the top flight.

He’s brilliant now, but we all remember Webster’s first season. Many shaky moments whilst he adapted.

Ben’s come in, and aside from a few moments has been 7+ out of 10 every week. No ego. No fuss. Calm and collected. And he’s taken that into the England team where he looked completely natural at international level.

He was suspended for a very naive tackle wasn’t he?

That tackle was the complete opposite of naive in my opinion. There were literally seconds left on the clock and Chelsea would've had a clear run on goal if he hadn't tackled/fouled him. It was the type of yellow card that players take for the team all the time, and Chelsea didn't have time to take advantage of the fact that it was his his second.

What these thickets don't seem to factor in is that it doesn't take all that much to look half decent against Rotherham and Wycombe Wanderers, does it.

You questioning the magic of Bielsa, who turned Ben White into the defender that won MOTM and had Leeds fans giddy with excitement in his first game just over 4 weeks after his loan deal was agreed?

I wouldn't dare.

Bielsa is a managerial behemoth and living legend. His list of honours include a Copa Del Ray (runner up) as well as 3 (THREE) EFL Manager of the Month awards.

Nobody has the right to question his genius.

All that good work playing alongside Dunk and Webster undone in one morning spent learning how to defend corners from Tyrone Mings.

Had an enjoyable conversation with an Arsenal fan yesterday.
He asked me if Ben White was worth £40m. I told him offer north of £50m and we might have a conversation.
I then told him I'd be disappointed if he went there - was hoping he would go to a good club if he left.
He completely blanked me after that. :rave:

No.

He was suspended for an absolutely professional 'tackle' that he was completely right to make, that sealed a crucial point, that just might have (at the time) kept us up.

I can’t find footage of the tackle, does anyone know where to find it? I’d like to refresh my memory of it

According to the Argus Knocky agrees with you, he too thinks Ben can do much better than go to Arsenal.

I have the same postman as young Mr White. Postie is a Man Utd fan and has been trying to persuade Ben's dad to get him to sign for them so Arsenal have no chance:lolol:
