A massive result for several reasons;

1. Three points away from home, always tough in any division
2. That'll send a message to teams around us that we're starting to find our feet
3. Puts out a message we aren't the old Brighton anymore of Spurs away last term, we play football now
4. Should be a big confidence boost for the lads, and good to see Maupay bag one in particular

Intelligent Potter altered our set up with Mooy providing support to Stephens when we didn’t have the ball, and Alzate’s pace was telling in defending attacks down our right. A quality defensive set up.

Not too shabby a start to Potter’s PL debut season:

Great stuff from the lads tonight. What I liked most about it was that the game was clearly there for the taking, whatever the so-called illustrious opponents...and even after the setback of a poor equaliser they first weathered the storm, and then went for the win. We needed a win whoever it was against, and there was no 'Let's settle for a draw, not a bad point at Arsenal' as there would have been under Chris Hughton.

So fully deserved for Potter and the team. We may be watching the best football ever played by Brighton, let's just enjoy it, and if we do what we are capable of this season it could be one of the most memorable in our history.

A lucky win - despite being probably the better team - but this is a big win the context of the season.

It may have caught your attention that a few of us are awaiting your explanation of of how exactly that was lucky? Are you just on a wind up or do your simply have no clue?

Ryan made two quality saves at least in that game too. He always puts in a solid performance. One of our best players and ever present.

It’ll come and when it does it will be another missive that you lose interest in after a few sentences. It takes a while for him to write it but it’ll be on here soon enough
