Yes it is and it is the sort of thing that, like it or not, creates the atmosphere at football matches that attracts people to actually go to games, rather than sit in their front room watching it on Sky.

I don't think the Birmingham coach companies are feeling the same way this morning.
It will give an "edge " to the next few games between the two clubs though!!

Apart from that one chant, their fans were superb, really loud support. Arsenal very quiet (i guess thats normal)

The song being refered to above. To sing a song about a player who doesn't even know if he will be able to play football again is senseless and very confrontational.

I agree with that, but the way Arsenal have dealth with the injury has been in many ways "senseless", and most definitely "confrontational".

Those types of injuries are an occupational hazard of the game, be it Busst, Larsson (or so it seemed at the time) etc etc, and you just have to accept that after the incident. Villa themselves have had it with that Belgian striker (Luc Nilis??). I have no recollection of the QPR player that ended Charlie Oatway's career, and I would say that whilst not being a horror tackle it was a much more deliberate fowl than Martin Taylor's.

There isn't normally songs sung about these types of things, and I think the difference this time is the complete tossers that this incident showed Wenger and his crew to be. I wouldn't say they're directed at Eduardo.

I was there on saturday and the Villa fans were totally out of order and nearly created a riot in the stadium.
I think they suffered after the game though, some of there coaches were not in a good state on the way out!!!

Other way round near the Flying Scotsman, Arsenal fans bit off a bit more than they could chew !!

Blimey, its only a bit of pisstaking banter. Yes it was a horrible injury, but nobody died and he's on the mend, still banking £60k a week for playing his X-Box for the next 6 months.

Its quite an amusing and well-constructed chant. Eduardo was probably having a chuckle as well, once someone explained it to him.

Am I the only one who feels that everyone is getting a bit precious about this? Is this the same Arsenal fans who regularly chant anti semitic chants to Spurs or even Brighton fans who were signing about a small town in Delhi at Luton away not so long ago. There are far worse things that are chanted at a football ground and let us remember that Eduardo has broken his leg. He’s not dead and will be playing again by Christmas.

I also find it amusing that one legged Heather Mills is considered fair game but everyone is feeling sorry for a Croatian striker who was partially responsible for Englands Euro 2008 exit. What next?, Everyone feeling sorry for Ronaldo when he gets fouled.

It's a chant at football, it happens and is it any different to us singing "Coppell's got VD" or "posh spice is a slapper" or songs about Munich etc etc?? What's inoffensive to some, is deeply offensive to others.

Songs about Munich are a bit different RR. You've got to draw the line somewhere. Death and racism are off limits.

I think the chant itself is actually quite witty and as Easy mentioned, if I was Eduardo (my name is Ed funnily enough), I would probably find the chants quite funny, rather than being mortally offended. However, the Arsenal fans are obviously not going to be best pleased when such a significant injury is made fun of. Villa can't complain too much about the state of their coaches now.
