I expect Pervis to start.
Although I do wonder if we might go 'big' tomorrow. Start Igor, Baleba and Moder alongside Dunk, JPvH, Welbeck and Pedro and we are suddenly quite a tall/physical side. Let's hope Gross has his 'decent delivery' boots on tomorrow rather than his 'first defender' ones.

I know what you mean but know Bart is playing over JS gives them info that IMO we didn't need to give.

Based on absolutely nothing I have a little feeling that Ansu might start tomorrow.
Tactically Bart will be playing in a similar way to Jason. Its not as if he's going to turn into Pickford or indeed the Brentford keeper overnight taking long goalkicks and free kicks from the halfway line so i doubt Arteta will need to adapt either way in terms of his game plan.

"Because I say so", so you don't then.
Ok. Do our goalkeepers play a different tactical role to one another when playing?

No they don’t.

Stop being a twat.

So which camp ( no pun intended) are we in with regards the reception for Ben White?

Personally I'm all in for giving him a bit of stick for the England snub. However, I know the Southgate haters and those dewy eyed as he played for us will beg to differ.
He really only played one proper season here and much of that in lockdown. He's probably the ex player I'm most ambivalent towards TBH.

Not dewy eyed although I don't like the manager. But why shouldn't he decline to play? Would you rather an unwilling player play in a setup he doesn't feel comfortable with? Would you work, as essentially now all football seems to be about money and finance, in a place you weren't happy with?

Can't put my finger on why but he really irritates me, so I'll be booing loudly and aggressively, and probably get a dirty look from the steward near me.

LOL! Are you actually a school teacher in real life, or just really angry?

If I were the oppo manager I'd ask my strikers to try to close down Bart quicker than Steele as Steele seems calmer with the ball in tight spaces. I'd also put less direct balls in and around the 6 yard box from corners or free kicks with Bart playing.
Would it change Arsenal's tactics significantly, probably not, might they tweak things, possibly, especially as they have this set piece coach, just why tell them.

i only saw him play twice for brighton IRL - in the 4-0 league cup win v Colchester in 2016 when he was 19 and then in that Man City game during Covid where Foden ran straight past him on the wing to put City 2-0 up.

When you play most clubs you know who the keeper is going to be way ahead of game day.

If 'keeping them guessing' was a strategy then it was neither a popular nor successful one.

I get your point but two observations. Firstly if the basis of his unhappiness is that he got a telling off in front of his team mates for not focussing on the job in hand it's pretty weak. If there's more to it Ben let us know and then we'll judge. Getting your mum (Edu) to phone in was also lame.

Secondly, I want the best possible squad to give us a chance in the Euros and White is bang on form and might be needed.

He took a long goal kick against Brentford. RDZ looked furious!

If he was subbed on/off, he'd probably be the only time when the ironic, collective "WHOOOOOOOO?" would actually be a genuine question from a certain section of supporters :lolol:

Edit: no, I know that doesn't *really* make any sense, but why let that get in the way of a cheap gag on a Friday afternoon?!

Newmarket.
Steele will be back between the sticks for the next game after Arsenal.
Verbruggen will unfortunately probably come down with a back injury.

Can we have a surprise tactic and take Gross off corners they are all a waste of fecking time. He can’t whip them which makes them easy to defend against.
