Mikel Arteta is a good call actually.

I don't see Pep at Man City next season, it seems very likely that Arteta is being groomed to succeed him. If Guardiola does stay with City, Arteta will leave in the summer for a managers job somewhere but I can't imagine he'll leave midseason. Arsenal would be tempting for him though, it's impossible to argue against the logic of it, but I don't think it'll happen.

I can see Ljungberg having the job for the rest of the season and then Arsenal really trying to get a top manager in during the summer months when there's more to choose from. In the short term, they would need to take someone out of work or poach from a smaller club and I don't really see them wanting to. Howe would be very good for them I think, a good fit - but will he want to take the risk?

Some papers are reporting Arsenal held informal talks with Mourinho but he thought Spurs coaching / reporting structure plus Champions League football was a better fit for him, so held out for that job instead.

Your assumption is based on Mourinho being a success at Spurs - I think it will go pear shaped - in fact I think he he would have been a better fit for Arsenal.

Nobody in the PL would be interested in poaching Potter from Brighton - the guy has 13 games experience in the PL, a season in the Championship and a few questionable seasons with a small club in Sweden where the chairman was jailed for fraud.
