So you contributed to the problem then?
I wish I had done too. I already have my Arsenal ticket, wanted one for my lad. Waited until 9am. Mistake clearly.
I absolutely did contribute. I'm not being "honourable" by trying to do it the right way when the club have made it clear they're happy with the current game being played to have to get tickets at this level of purchase. I want to go to as many games as possible, if I have to play the bullshit game to do it then I will, I have no regrets. Direct your ire to towards the club, I know I am, I'd much rather just logon and get them at 9am like normal instead of this nonsense.

I wasn’t having a go at you personally, as I said I wish I’d done it myself if I’d known.

Out of interest, has anyone actually emailed the club recently to ask about this loophole issue? Something like this is probably one of the genuine fan gripes that DOES need to be targetted higher up the chain of command, IMO.

For some reason, they didn't do this for Athens, as widely reported on here and it sounds like they didn't do the same today either.

This prior tier ticket reserving used to be possible but the club were aware and took steps to stop it.

For the Ajax second tier, the club shut off sales at 8:30am, temporarily put up the "Sold out" signs, cleared all baskets, and re-opened sales at 9am which gave everyone an equal chance.

For some reason, they didn't do this for Athens, as widely reported on here and it sounds like they didn't do the same today either.

Whatever was done today wasn't effective and most of the tickets that should have been available to buy, simply weren't.

If it's practical, the club need to shut sales down 30 minutes (or whatever) between windows, clear out all baskets, and re-open sales at the prescribed time giving everyone an equal chance.
And they didn't do for Palace either, so that's 3 high demand games since the Ajax one where they have not done it.

Does anyone from FAB visit this site? What is the process for formally raising an agenda item with FAB? I’m happy to do it if I can be pointed in the right direction.

The Fan Advisory Board had a report in the last match programme I think, so they are active. Hopefully they'll pick this up because it is an abuse of the tiering system that the club have carefully put in place to ensure fairness

The points system and way we sell tickets is generally decent and should be, as it was designed by Tony Bloom. However, there are currently two major flaws in it that are really starting to piss people off.

1) Not clearing baskets from higher tiers (this should be done and the site 'bounced' 15 mins before the next tier opens. If it's a process rather than automated then make sure the person who is being paid to do a job does it properly).
2) The huge size of T2, effectively making it 'all the rest'. Was too big for Ajax and same thing again for Palace. 302 -238 is ludicrous. I can absolutely guarantee you that someone on 300 has put more of an effort in than someone on 239. If's effectively a lottery and, taken in tandem with 1, above, it's a rigged lottery.

Fix it please PBOBE.

(I'll not even mention releasing the worst blocks first. Except for here, obvs).

That's a really good point - they could easily have more "windows" - although I guess there's a bit more admin involved. And for Palace, Tier 3 was 238 - 215, which seems a very narrow band (presumably loads of people with points tallies in that range). In terms of fairness/loyalty, it seems logical to have more windows with relatively even points gaps between them. It would be good if the club could explain how they decide on the number of windows, and the points for each tier.

I think that they should hold a small percentage of tickets for each tier.
Tier 1 = 80%
Tier 2 = release another 10%, tier 1 & 2 can go for it
Tier 3 = release another 5%, tier 1,2 & 3
STH = last 5%, all tiers can go for them

At least that gives those below tier 2 some kind of chance. This season is unprecedented in terms demand, which is having the effect that tier 1 is becoming a closed shop.

As a lowly season ticket holder only, Chelsea was far easier the other week than the shambles this morning so I assume they cleared baskets for Chelsea but not this morning if I hadn’t of got a ticket I would of been fuming

Sorry this is absolutely nuts. People in the top tier have done the miles, and you're saying people in lower tiers should essentially get a special release of tickets for doing less games? 5% of away tickets (so for AEK that would be 100 of the 1500 or so tickets available) being given as a free for all for all STH? This thread is full of people (rightly) saying that it is unfair that tickets are being held back by people in higher tiers, only for your solution to be that the club should do it themselves!

It's also worth noting that, despite there being bigger demand than ever for the attractive and European fixtures, a lot of games are going all the way to all STHs and they have a large number of loyalty points attached to them. You want to be in a higher tier, go to Everton and Forest (15 points apiece)!

IIRC something similar occurred when I was in the England travel club many years ago. Even a small allocation like Estonia or somewhere like that where they only got about 1,000. In the main it went to the “top cappers” however some did filter down so in theory all members had a chance, even if it was a small one.

I’ve been banging the drum for the tier 2 points spread being way too large as well. There’s a pretty big gulf in ‘loyalty’ between those at the bottom and those at the top of it. Was very unfair for Ajax I thought (didn’t affect me before anyone calls sour grapes).

(It did me though!) as we were near the top!
However as I’ve well documented, we did ok in the end.

The way I see it is, them the tiers and if someone at the arse end bags a ticket it’s akin to the team finishing sixth in the playoffs going up. Remember how some used to moan about that back in the day?
