You too big man and both our fathers in the RAF too, I had the pleasure of working with your dad at Fine Fare when I was 16 on a Saturday iirc, he was a fork lift driver

Whilst on the subject, good to see Joanna keeping up the campaign.

These chaps are a great bunch to work with.
We have a lot of them, now retired from the Ghurkas, carrying out normal guard duties on certain units.
Very friendly, but you wouldn't mess with them.
I posted this earlier, with another tribute from GWR :)

I'm getting old. Or just senile.

I looked at your link. Went to Twitter. Thought how good it was then posted it back here....

They had a couple on the door at the Union Jack club when I was last there and you wouldn’t believe how well behaved everyone was when they were around.

A Royal Marine I shared a house with in Pompey spent time with Johnny Gurkha and he said something along the lines of “ the problem with Johnny Gurkha is that he doesn’t know when to stop. He’ll stop when either you are dead or he is” …..

View attachment 137966 HMS Brighton, my home from 1977 - 1979, great times

I saw her at Dartmouth in 1976. It was only when I digitalised the old family pictures after Dad, ex-navy, died. I looked up the frigate number and it was Brighton. My Dad must have known.

He said he was in a Spithead review in 1953. They had one in 1977. Not sure if they have had others since. But we saw that one.
