Likewise. I thought the club had gotten rid of him for bemoaning the budget. flirting with other clubs and trying to engineer his way out of his contract. Now it seems they've suspended him for an email about a poo because of a power struggle. Very disappointing.

No they suspended him for not doing his job (refusing to deal with the contracts), not the email.

I also think it indicates that Gus's supposed 'love in' with Spanish players isn't necessarily the case. While the current saga isn't ideal I hope it will be a watershed in terms of flushing out issues and allowing the squad to move forward, presumably under a new manager.

Enough of the poogate puns, already !

Good points, there is an element here of the club getting their retaliation in first.

There are a few shades* of the Wilkins dismissal here - the big difference this time is that I'm 100% behind the club whereas last time I was 100% against them. I wonder if the club have tapped up a replacement the way they approached Adams last time whilst Wilkins was still in post? Anyway this will run and run for a while yet with more and more being revealed - probably on both sides.

*Only a few before someone points out that they're totally different situations.

The best form of defence is offence. Personally I am embarrassed and sick of it already. I want this blip to be over as soon as possible and let's get on with next season.

P.S. They're totally different situations.

Having read through this thread I feel that Vincente has nothing to gain by stating what he has, if everything he says is true you have to ask why the most skilful and medal winner in the squad, whose been fit since Jan. was left mostly on the outside looking in. With better use those extra points could have been gained and auto promotion would have come. The ability to change tactics and make the most of our subs has been lacking this and last season and so have things that should have been coached on the training ground. This is a player who has played at the very highest level, if he states somethings were badly wrong then I for one would believe it.

Said this to someone the other day. I haven't given up on CMS. I still think he can score plenty of goals at this level. Players don't score some of the goals he has by luck, one against Leeds and Burnley spring to mind. He has always needed a partner along side him and now he might just get one.

Ulloa and CMS- looks good!

Wow Plenty of people on here have wondered if Gus was an egotistical tyrant who cannot be questioned. Maybe they weren't far wrong.

THe dictator will not succeed in the premier league at this moment in time, he still has a hell of alot to learn about management

Indeed....

I fear we could have walked this championship, well at least we should have made automatic promotion and I think Tony Bloom also knows that this was our best chance.

Gus Poyet could have cost us promotion through his own ego.

Seven midweek home draws throughout the season, dreadfully inconsistent performances, changes for the sake of it. Going in to the league home against Palace I remember being far from certain, a lack of wins, I think Poyets fate had been sealed a long time ago, I even suspect that the club would have wanted him to go to Reading. Reckon Gus started to believe his own press, i'm not sure he is as good as he thinks. He owes BHAFC in general and Tony Bloom in particular a lot for giving him the opportunity and money that he has had. I can never forget him going Awol for 45 minutes against Burnley last year when we had two men sent off in the first twenty minutes. I struggle to understand what he says and I struggle to understand what he is saying at times.

Hopefully you will give up this pathetic nickname you have given CMS!

No I approve of "McSmudger". An amusing name. I also agree that he should be shipped out ASAP. Since he was injured we went from strength to strength. If you know anything about football then you should see that although he gives 100% he is JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Whether he is good enough or not, the nickname is pathetic and boring. As for CMS' ability, I imagine the new manager will give everyone a fresh start (that may even include Harley). We will see about whether a change in tactics helps CMS as he has never really had a partner up front so it would be good to see how he does with Ulloa.

Well I suppose it may be worth keeping McSmudger, particularly if we drop down to league 1 again...
