When it comes to investing in a football club history tells us good business practice goes out of the window.
Tony Bloom has made financial commitments over a number of years and we should be grateful for what he's done so far.
Of course it is extremely frustrating to be losing players without bringing better replacements in and there's good reason to be worried, but it's not Bloom's fault.
Money is a big issue, but given we've already cut a lot of players and are likely to get some sort of fee for Murray it's down to Russell Slade to box clever and bring in replacements within budget.
I hope Slade is not a one-trick pony. The Houdini act was much appreciated but can Slade get the right players in, then motivate them for next term?
