Is it really that shameful to vote Conservative that it's the leading poll result so far, but no one has owned up to it yet by posting??! Must admit that's pretty close to my preferences, but, the thing I am really struggling with is the EU Referendum. I am pro Europe, and am worried about the idea of the unsettling effect that the prospect of the referendum will have on our economy until 2017.. also the prospect of the Tories getting in bed with UKIP to form a coalition scares the frig out of me. What a mess!

There is absolutely no point the Tories doing a deal with UKIP, and here's why it will not happen:

UKIP are going to win - at an absolute maximum, a very unlikely six seats - on current trends they will win either three or four. (Clacton - nailed on, South Thanet - 9 points clear for Farage, Thurrock - ahead in the polls and IMO one of Rochester & Strood, Greater Grimsby and Boston & Skegness.

IF - the Tories were only six seats short of a majority - then there would be no point in going with UKIP, the Conservatives would side with the Unionists in Northern Ireland who will win either eight or nine seats. Of course the full name of the party is the Conservative and Unionist Party.

A deal with UKIP doesn't strike a cord with me either - but it won't happen - simply because of the maths.

It told me to vote Lib Dem. If the survey was accurate the Greens are going to sweep the country, which they're not, so it seems the survey is more about in-a-perfect-world aspirations rather than actual intentions.

I suspect many people sympathise with more left-wing policies and ideas, hence the high scores for the greens et al.

However those left-wing ideas have been vilified in the media, which is controlled by those with a vested interest in right-wing policy, for so long and in such an insidious manner, that people are surprised and possibly ashamed that they find themselves so aligned with left-wing parties.

I agree with you about the EU. The Tories were bounced into committing themselves to this particular referendum question by the tabloid-orchestrated fear that their right-wing supporters and Mail/Express readers would all be voting UKIP.

There are tens of thousands of pro-European Tories like you too but you would never think it if you read any of the papers (those of the left as well as the right). It's a constituency that's been completely ignored this election and I don't think that's a pretty healthy state of affairs

Depressing ? Seriously, why ? Because you have right on friends who'll sneer ? Because you've been influenced by the mainstream media that it's racist or 'uncool' to vote for UKIP ? why not just have the courage of your convictions ?

I had already voted before taking part in the survey - end of!

Perhaps those inclined to vote Green or UKIP ( or other irrelevant candidates/parties ) should consider whether or not their's is a wasted vote ??

If you are inclined to vote for a 'fringe' party your vote is not irrelevant. The more people that vote for 'fringe' parties the more the mainstream parties change to attract those voters. IMO a vote is never wasted even if it is a 'null' vote.
