I've posted on another thread about this, but I feel that this decision is more the clubs than RDZ's. And if thats the case, then I'm convinced the club did it now because they have their ideal candidate in mind and the timing is right to appraoch them now, but might not be a few months down the line. With that in mind, im not nervous because I think the club are working to plan.

I was more nervous when Potter left because it was mid season and (to me at least unexpected)

I am however nervous now because we've had three decent changes of manager in a row, and that run will end one day
It was unexpected at the Albion too. But they dealt with it. This one is expected. They can hopefully deal with it.

Now. This is a huge appointment because we have a young squad that needs work, RDZ walked into a good squad that got better under RDZ.
This is exactly what I would have said. I’m also nervous because of what I think the ‘disagreement’ between RDZ and TB means about our likely recruitment in the summer. Not that I want us to spend 100s of millions on established players, but if RDZ was asking for a couple of good athletic midfielders, a winger, a RB and an upgrade on Igor he wouldn’t have been far wrong in terms of what we need to get close to the squad we had last season. I suspect we aren’t going to get that. I was already nervous when we deemed Milner good enough for a squad place.

This.

And I always thought Potter was going to be long term. I don't think anyone thought RDZ would be longer than 2-3 years, but pleased with what he's done

I was delighted when Potter left, we have to remember it is all about the quality of the players there is no miracle formula.
Not surprisingly we dropped off this season selling over £100m worth of midfield. RDZ got more out of the squad than Potter did and that is a fact.

I’m mostly nervous about why RDZ has decided we haven’t met his ambitions.

Our squad is clearly weaker now than when he took over. Perhaps he feels, after conversations with Bloom, that trend will continue. I.e cashing in a player or two and replacing with more young talents as per our strategy.

I’m also nervous about how potential new managers will view this. It will surely raise some red flags.

Not concerned about who the manager will be

More concerned with the state of the squad come new season

I don't understand the Igor comment. Imo he plays a similar game to Webster but is stronger, gives it away less often when carrying the ball forward, and is left-footed. Why do we need an upgrade?

The club is in a great place, end of season. We can take our time to get the right person.

Thanks for the memories Roberto, onto the next chapter

That trend will certainly continue. There are bigger clubs than us that will always buy our better players, and our recruitment is based on buying younger players with potential and building them up. Thats how clubs like ours compete in this league.

I am more concerned now because RDZ raised our game and set a pretty high bar for us now. I am a bit worried that whomever comes in won’t be able to match that and now things are going to seem distinctly average for a bit.

Less like the majority. Am sure is pointed out that was a few games in and after a window...... this is the perfect time and our choice! Not even comparible.

Less nervous now than when Potter and his entourage left. Uncle T will have known about this for a while now and most certainly have a contingency plan ,in Tony we trust ,onwards and upwards.
