Is the right answer I wonder what the England team (and the South African who wears our shirt) will get if they win this Ashes series...the Nobel Prize? The Victoria Cross? Knighthoods would surely be utterly inadequate for such a stupefying contribution to the modern world.

Certainly is a helluva sporting day: England going well, Sussex going well, Tom Watson leading the open - I've barely got enough eyes and ears to cope. Shame the Ashes aren't screened on the internet like the golf, but I guess you can't have everything....
