To be honest, I want to feel confident, but as things stand now we are WEAKER than last year. .

We're not though are we? We are much stronger right now than we were at this point last season when we didnt have Orlandi, Spanish Dave, or Ulloa. In fact the only player we had at this point who's currently missing is Bridge from memory. I'm feeling very confident, we are two or three players off being an excellent side.

Massively positive. We underachieved last season... we were a much better team than Hull certainly. If Bridders stays and we sign an attacking midfielder plus a left-back (not keen on Shorey... he's too slow) i think we'll be there or thereabouts again. Oscar has been talking about playing a high energy pressing game. Add that to his background developing Barca's players, and i reckon he's planning to make much better use of the Development Squad crew. George Barker, Solly March, Forster-Caskey, Dunk even, plus whoever else is in the Development Squad... i think we'll see them far more involved this season which is another positive. Gus seemed to lose interest in developing players.

On the downside, looking at the club's who have come down and some of the signings our Championship rivals have started to make, it looks like a much stronger league than last season.

I reckon we'll lose at Leeds, but then hammer Newport to get things nicely up and running. Really looking forward to those back-to-back visits to Reading and QPR in September where we'll discover if we're serious title contenders or not.

Quite, even the first match of the season when our teams was

T Kuszczak, Bruno, A El-Abd, W Bridge, G Greer, A Crofts, G Dicker (T Agdestein, 89), L Bridcutt, C Noone (K Lua Lua, 68), C Mackail-Smith, A Barnes
Subs not used: C Ankergren, R Harley, L Dunk, M Painter, I Calderon

ok we are minus Bridge but just adding Orlandi and Ulloa (and we were missing Buckley at the start of the season) makes the team a better one.

Just wait until midnight on 31 August and then decide

The last month have been sad but now we move on and hopefully up. Right now Im confident of a top half finish and with a few signings we can be heading for the play-offs again.

However, Im not convinced a more attacking style will get better results. Here's hoping though.

Absolutely, and that team only lost narrowly to Hull! I think having Ulloa fit and ready from the beginning of the season will make a world of difference. Very excited!

Nope, and it's got nothing to do with the players or the manager, or expectations of where we'll finish. It's all about the hangover from last season - losing to that lot, and the subsequent shenanigans has drained any sense of optimism or positivity from me. I have no sense of excitement about the forthcoming campaign and that's never happened before.

Definitely not feeling the buzz yet.
I really liked Gus and hope the new guy lives up to expectations.

No one has commented on the loss of Dean Hammond. I think his game improved as the season developed and he became a very important part of our midfield success. I would like to see him signed on a permanent contract.

As I've said before I think we are certs for promotion. Oscar is going to keep our passing game but with more attacking flair. A recipe for auto promotion.

He still has a year left at Saints. I think the money could be spent better elsewhere unless we could get him back on loan.

Mixed for me. Always look forward to the new season but have concerns that the squad is a little thin. Starting 11 looks good but as it stands injuries etc would cause issues. A couple of signings will soon put my concerns to bed.

Not at the moment. 22 of the 24 Championship teams have strengthened by making signings and it feels like we are getting left behind at the moment.

Confident that even if we get off to a shaky start, January window will see the changes that Oscar wants and that a top 6 finish is very achievable and, if required, a top 2 finish in 2014/15 is equally achievable.

This time last season, I still thought 7th would be great and above that would be unthinkable, so its a positive for me!

Certain players going to be key for the campaign; Buckley, Ulloa, Upson and Kuszczakzakattack et al. My feeling is that Oscar is a more passionate and honest broker, am not going to complain if we start playing like Barcelona, vain hope! That said of course it could all go pear shaped. No question am looking forward to it

It's impossible to know if they have strengthened without also looking at who has left? I can guarantee you that of those 22, more than a few will definetely NOT be stronger. And we were better than 17 of those teams last season anyway.

We have Ulloa from thr start. I think this almost makes up for what we lost... AND we WILL sign players, as we always do. So yes im perfectly confident.

Yup. What he said. I'm confident.

not sure really - not confident by what has been going on past few weeks, and not really enamoured with my seat (it hasn't changed or anything, but dont love the people around me, except for the friendly bloke to the right)

a few good signings to compliment a more attacking display of football and that could change, however...
