There’s been an unprecedented rise in injuries across the league - there’s no proof either that our injuries are primarily occurring in training - although training may expose an injury that had been sustained in the previous match which the players had exacerbated, either by playing on or not resting it post match (as Fergie did).I don’t know about the number of injuries other clubs have had but I’d be surprised if most injuries occurred during training. It’s unusual isn’t it?
Maybe it’s still the impact from Covid - delay to the start of the 2020/21 season, fixture congestion and shorter summer break. The WC during the 22/23 Season led to a 6 week break from EPL, further congestion/fatigue etc and another short summer. However, West Ham have competed in all competitions this season yet have the lowest number of injuries so it can’t be fixture scheduling alone ( Brighton, in the other hand, had the most recovery times over the Christmas period). It may even get worse next season with changes to UEFA competitions expanding the Group stage from 6 to 8 rounds.
I would also add that by one player’s account, RDZ’s training sessions are less physically demanding than Potter’s were.
