Are you convinced yet?

I am convinced.... that the tactics are wrong, from the home game performances.
Why do we not have a DIRECT approach to the opposition goal - why choose to send the two strikers forward only in wide positions to the wing? Thereby the only option available is a cross to the other lone striker - who has to try getting at-best a 50/50 ball instead of their keeper or defender(s). That is a LOTTERY situation.

High ball passes are also a lottery, and one that favours the players facing the oncoming ball. Play lofty passes over the top in hope that we might get a lucky bounce or mistake from the defender, is patently NOT WORKING! Our advancing attacking midfield, following up such plays, is getting caught out.... leaving everything exposed in our defense.
But for Whing and Richards, we would have lost both our home fixtures so far - and let's not overlook that the football was RUBBISH as a spectacle as well !!! ???

Ball on the ground - it works, it keeps the intent in our favour as long as we keep the ball (and we should have faith in our lads to be better than our oppositions), and it makes for more watchable encounters.

and relax.

From what I have seen we are very much in a false positin. I have sat through 3 hours of awful football. We need to produce tomorrow.

I think FDM may disagree with you there. He was far more responsible for us saving a point in both the Bristol Rovers and Orient games.

Top class shot stopping both home and away, shame about his speed of distribution and some of the kicking though - seems like he only has a driver and a sand wedge in the bag.

It's a long time since we have had an entertaining game at Withdean and so far this season the omens are not good. I cannot believe we keep trying the long ball approach. It did not work under McGhee and it's not working under Adams. Our injury problems show how limited are our resources. So, I am not convinced that we are promotion candidates at the moment.

The Withdean crowd are getting restless and another lack lustre performance will drive many away and the moaners (and there are many at Withdean) will be on the players' backs. Let's hope this Saturday we see a change in tactics and performance that will send us home with a smile.
