Thats what you call it. Murray did not have a good game against Oldham, a freind (who loves Murray) said he was poor against Plymouth. Got subbed both games, where Sandaza got the winning goal against Brentford, that deserves a start IMO.

But of course, in the eye's of a Murray arse licker, he must have been rested.

I was merely suggesting a possible reason as to why things were changed. You have as little idea as I do when it comes to the mind and actions of Poyet.

Why do you dislike him so much? Fair enough if you don't rate him, but you tend to go far beyond the realms of being reasonable and call him a wanker. Why is that?

In fact, I just remembered. On Tuesday he came over to the subs bench on his own and didnt clap us even though he was getting a good reception. I now HATE him.

I personally thought it was quite obvious that Murray would be on the bench, for the reason a gave.

Ok, i have never met the bloke, so it is unfair to call him a wanker, so i will take that back, sorry Glenn. However, sometimes he does come across as abit of a tool, not done for a while mind, but you must admitt at times, he has. I have certainly not been the only one to think that.

And it's not really that i don't rate him, however i think his ability is far from how many on here seem to think. Of course, IMO. I actually admit that on Saturday (when he came on) he upped his game and looked quite good. That is because his style suited our play, where as Sandaza is a poacher and we were not playing the game where a poacher would be suited. Maybe Murray getting dropped gave him a push to improve things?

I would play Murray on Saturday.

I must thank you BoF for a sensible question, rather than just calling me a fucktard like some...

Fair comment. Apologies. You do just always seem to get on his back and criticise in an over the top way.

Yeah i understand that, apologies. I think that is because no one else will ever criticise him no matter how he plays. So when i do, it is more pointing out that he was not as good as people say he is. Any yes i do go a bit over the top,

In fairness, Murray has suffered a LOT of criticism over the last three years.

I have criticised him in the past but I think this season he has risen to a new level. What is also pleasing is the partnership him and Barnes have struck up. I think they will both end up with 15+ goals each this season.

Thanks Greens :(
All this talk of Murray’s performances doesn’t allow for praise for what Ashley Barnes has been doing quietly and efficiently. When used as the sole striker, Murray was obviously getting frustrated with the role, constantly being battered by the centre-halves, and going down ineffectively looking for free-kicks which never came and not really getting anywhere. On Saturday I was very pleasantly surprised, possibly because he had a partner in Barnes (who had three one-on-ones before he scored with a header from a corner!) and he noticeably relished the thought of having someone to actually knock the ball on for…

I would argue that Barnes is numero uno when it comes to our strikers, looking the part around the box and the most dangerous in his overall play. Murray played a superb supporting role on Saturday, and gave way to a similar type of player in Sandaza, who couldn’t miss from a yard at the death…

My point is it probably will be Barnes on the team sheet first, and perm one from Murray and Sandaza, with the latter needing drop off or go left or right to give Barnes the space he needs, as they were sometimes in the same pocket on Tuesday night…

I would hate to have seen the end result if he had been a yard further out? Chris Waddle? :lolol:

I'm a big fan of Murray as a player. He changed the game when he came on the other night. Previously he has had an excellent goals to games ratio but has been guilty of looking a bit lazy and not bringing much to the team as a whole. This season he looks much more a team player and he should have had a good few assists had Barnes put them in the back of the net. If he continues playing the way he has and can return to the goalscoring return he had previously he will quite a player. One we must make sure we offer a contract to as soon as possible, because if it is not offered before January he can negotiate his own deal with another club just when we need him to be concentrating on a push for promotion.

As a person, I don't know him. But I took my autistic son to a first team training session at Withdean organised for disabled kids. Afterwards the players met the kids and parents. I found him to be friendly, softly spoken and patient with the kids. He came over as decent, laid back bloke.

Definitely the best striker at the club BUT could be a much better player if he stopped throwing himself to the floor all the sodding time, that's what frustrates me about him.

Sorry Hitman, you're calling this wrong. Gus explained his reasons for starting with Sandaza on the radio. Fran had scored with the last kick of the previous game and Gus wanted him to take that "high" into the next game. Gus subsequently admitted that it was a calculated gamble which didn't work out and that Fran still needs to work on his match fitness. Much to Gus' credit, Murray came on and changed the game.

This is not guesswork - this is what Gus said.
Murray has been playing brilliantly this season and the massive number of Barnes shats (third highest in the League) are testament to this. Murray is playing a different role to last year (as is Bennett) and it's working. At some point you might just like to graciously accept that your polarised view might be a bit extreme and that the pluralists might have a point.

I think he's been doing that less in the last few games. Have you seen a change? (I also think he's been kicked a LOT more and has had genuine reason the hit the deck).

In the Murray "licker" camp definitely. Anyone who doesn't realise how much Murray brings to the side (aside from goals) and how utterly VITAL he is to the way we play, should give up their seat immediately to someone who actually understands football.

I wouldn't pay any creedance whatsoever to anything The Hitman says. If he had his way; Elliott Bennett and Kazenga Lua Lua would be deported. His views are meaningless.
