I’ve had both under a Tory government. NHS did a sterling job in getting me better, and I got a new job very quickly - which I’m still in. Now I own my own gaff. I’ve had luck along the way - but if you work hard enough the opportunities are there for anyone who wants it in this country.

Boris Johnson has repeatedly stated the NHS would be better if people paid for it through private insurance.

It will be a painful learning experience for the working class as they find out how much the EU protected them from the worst of the Tory party.

Quite. The Tories have never given a shit about certain parts of the country and sections of society and if they think Boris, JRM and co are all of a sudden going to start taking an interest now then they really do need their heads testing. If they join the hospital queue now, they might just get this test in time for the next election.

tradition definition is around manual work, for wages (vs salary), in factories or other industrial work. some will make a point about those that do not own the means of production. its full of contradiction and counter-examples these days, we cant really define it, replaced with more granular socio-economic classes. many chose to define themselves as working class when they have all the trappings of middle class life style.

Sorry. I disagree. It’s okay for tangible things like broken bones and operations etc. But it’s totally and utterly woeful for things like mental health. And I will say this for the umpteenth time, it’s biggest single issue is a lack of funding.

Of course it is, but the funding will never be enough because expectations and demands will increase, with mental health being a classic example.

This country stands out because of its free NHS but every penny put in the NHS is a penny less for education, transport, defence, etc.
