Giving blood makes you FEEL good. If you have never done it you should try at least once.

I certainly am. Blood and bone marrow.

I am also one of those horrible pestering people who will bug all those fit and able to donate until they do so. There is no good reason for a fit, healthy person not to donate. And the benefits of donation are so far reaching and make such a difference in the recipients life I can't even begin to explain.

Bloody hurts but well worth it...

Yeah it was.

I have a MASSIVE phobia of needles and was sick straight afterwards and am stressed to buggery now but its a good cause.

Well done Richie. That took some balls.

Perhaps some of the other needle-phobics can take note.

I was nearly killed by an empty needle when I was at school and have had a phobia ever since. Last time I had an injection was in my mouth and I went mental and the needle snapped in my mouth.

I HATE needles. Just seeing one makes me spew.

I checked about bone marrow here, its the same rules as blood donation so I'm out, again. :(

Both my dad and brother needed large blood transfusions while undergoing major operations - badly, erm, ruptured? perforated? something ulcer and brain surgery for epilepsy - within a year of each other in 1990/1991. And they're both still here today.
