Are we too fickle as fans?

Been reading a few of the posts ref Piercy & Saturdays game.

Not too many are happy with Piercy, some comments that Mayo wasn't too good either, Marney not much, Jones no good.

Well, considering we won 3-0, they didn't have a shot to remember and we're a depleted squad through injuries, I didn't think it was too bad

So if we played that well when carrying 2 - 3 players, watch out Grimsby.

I think that sometimes, some people expect top football week in, week out. Sorry to disappoint you, but it's never like that. It's about getting results even when you're not on top form (for whatever reason).

Of course.

If you kept a record of your threads and read them back after a year then I'm sure that most contributors would wince with shame at what they posted.

Fans call for immediate gratification, where the big scheme of things gets ignored until it becomes hindsight.

Remember that our expectations are now back up to a respectable level THANKS TO people like Dick Knight, and also due to the work ethic of the good managers he brought into the club and the professionals on the pitch.

Oddly, success in football brings with it inherent pressures, ones that are made by the people who brought success in the first place !

It's a no-win situation for them, unless of course they enjoy the bumpy ride. Still, isn't that what life is all about after all ?
