Are WE still Premier League READY ?

'Off the pitch' we are as good, if not better equipped than most rivals to be Premier league ready (stadium, new training complex, crowds, sponsorship deals, sensible chairman etc). Despite our adherence to FFP.

However 'on the pitch' we are not consistent enough to become proper contenders and are not Premier league ready. That is down to the quality of our squad and the incessant disruption due to injuries (just imagine if Buckley, Crofts, Ulloa, CMS and Hoskins had been fit for most of the season). Recently we have lost our eye for scoring goals and this has coincided with us conceding some very sloppy goals at the back. That is not the Albion we know and love from over the last 3-4 seasons.

I guess it is all very well to have a superb set up 'off the pitch' but ultimately we need the 'on pitch' side of the equation to deliver and that needs a manager who can motivate a largely average set of players to maximise their performance over the season. You also need that 'x' factor and a bit of luck to succeed - look at Palace last season, not nailed on to get promotion but somehow grinding out results while more fancied rivals, including ourselves, fell at the last hurdle. Looking at our performances over the last 3 games I'm not sure we currently have that 'x' factor.

No! Which is why we should stop moaning, the team's not good enough. Can't be helped, other teams in The Championship have played better, good luck to them. Squad needs fine tuning.

We have the parts that most clubs would kill for. 20k+ season ticket holders, the best ground outside the prem and soon to have one of the best training grounds in the country.

Our time will come. Patience dear boy.

Missed the boat last year, could be a very long while before it returns with no investment in the team...

depends what you mean. The team are lower league losers, but yesterday Brighton had bigger gates than west brom, stoke, palace and no doubt a number of others and we were a division below them
