We can beat these Mickey Mouse non-league teams from May til July and it means nothing. OK, they'll get the occasional draw as per last Saturday. But it doessn't prove a damn thing. Robbie Pethick was top pre-season scorer a few seasons back FFS. What's the point? Sell more season tickets? Play good Samaritan to half the non-League teams in the South? All good, but it's only when we come up against half-decent opposition that any gaping holes become obvious. by which time it's pretty late in the day to do anything about it.

Personally, I have serious doubts about the Albion's pre-season strategy. It teaches us or - far more importantly - the management very little about the players that is of any use for Div One.

Just won't do IMHO
