We are about where we should be imo. Every team has a couple of games where they could have or should gave won. Swings and round abouts, eg Everton points gained

The weird thing is that it was not long ago that I think it was that after 8 games, 6 of those we’d played were in the top 10.

It just shows how close the table currently is. It’s going to be a great season, I reckon.

I think we are about right, could have had a few more points, but maybe some decisions in other games offset that.

We play some nice stuff but perhaps have not got the players to fully take advantage of it (Trossard excepted). We are where we are on merit but need to understand that we have some really challenging games coming up and it is a position were are unlikely to sustain.

Things are good though, others realise this, the forthcoming tv coverage confirms it all.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about how we could have so many more points, our possession and expected goals. I just noticed this though. After eleven games we have played the bottom eight clubs and nine of the bottom ten.

So can you look at another way. Are we in a false position because we’ve played all the crap teams?

Well, we should pick up more points when we play them all again.

Our next 10 games are all against current top 12 teams, the only top 12 team we aren’t playing is Man City (we can’t play ourselves). So we’ll have an answer to your question in 10 games time.

Hard to say but I am reminded of the year we missed out on promotion from the Championship on goal difference. Remember the talk of “haven’t played anyone decent” as we surprised ourselves and all the “big” Championship teams?

The next three games should give us a better picture of our “level” this year.

The most important thing to me is that I am fecking loving this season. It may or may not last but I’m enjoying the ride.

Last year we were utterly useless against the bottom teams, so anyone of the mindset that we’re only where we are “because we’ve beaten some of the poorer teams” just needs to think about that.

It’s not games against City and Liverpool that will determine where we end up, more games like the we’ve already played.

I like this thread.

Beat Man U this weekend, and I think we can, then I’ll start believing in a top half finish.

Our current position reflects the relative ease of our initial fixtures. According to the tracker we are, in terms of points, where we would expect to be to be on 40 points at the end of the season. 40 points won't be good enough for 8th then.

I think see where we are on 6th December, after our next four fixtures against Man Utd (away), Leicester (home), Liverpool (away) and Arsenal (away).

Blimey, I had missed that three of the next four are away. That is a pretty intimidating fixture list, thank God we have decent points on the board! Now let’s go out and win our first ever Premier League away game against a top side, it’s been over two years since we got here

But before that, let's beat Manchester United.

I think, broadly speaking, our position is fair but on the other hand if we'd won the red card defeats vs Southampton and Villa then we'd deservedly be in dreamland now.
