was talking about the same thing boxing day....i love a good conspiracy theory. Go down to league 2 , be one of the big boys......after a brilliant start the crowds come back, big away followings , taking over towns, and the momentum starts building towards Falmer!!!
Of course theres always the possibility that we dont get promoted and have a few seasons in league 2 :(

I posted something similar on here a month or so ago, and I got SLATED.
I didn't go as far as this thread, but my theory is that we didn't want to get promoted this season. I don't believe we want to get relegated either because of Falmer and finance etc. I simply don't think we can afford to go down this season.

My theory holds weight imo. Adams was very insistant at the start of his tenure that this was a long-term job to get us into Falmer as a Championship club. I don't believe that DK and the board wanted us to end up back in league 1 in time for Falmer, and the plan was to get promotion just in time for our first season in our new stadium.

I firmly believe this was set up to be a transition season for the club. Where MA could bring in new players and build his own team, ready to challenge for promotion next season. But now that Falmer has been put back another year, we may have to push for promotion sooner than the club maybe wanted.

I could be completely wrong of course! But it's all about opinions.

Knight's marketing background would tell him that the first priority is not to lose the customers you already have. The response to this season from even the most diehard fans would indicate that a number of previously loyal fans may quit supporting the club and may take some enticing back.

Another intrinsic truth. Buddha knows how many local kids have NO interest in lowly Brighton and Hove Albion, having preference of some Prem team loaded with stars who they perceive, can actually play football.
