If the question was are we contravening FFP rules, then it would have taken one definitive post, end of thread.

But the point, I think is are we really any more credible than say those that have contravened it, whilst running such a loss.

We can boast our world class infrastructure and a competitive wage bill on a wealthy benefactor, that allows multi million pound annual losses.

So although that might make us lucky it doesnt automatically make us more worthy of 'football respect' or some sort of 'football morality' or whatever the appropriate phrase might be, especially if aiming our own self importance at other clubs.

I dont think it is cheating, but it isnt exactly uniquely praiseworthy either.

To be fair, there was one definitive post in relation to FFP, and Sussex Nomad chose repeatedly to ignore it and continued his fishing trip. This led to many others repeating it, and SN (who does have history for trolling if you take a look at previous posts) sticking his fingers in his ears and continuing the wind up.

I agree with you totally about the losses, they are not 'ours', they are Tony Bloom's, and we are lucky to have him as a fan. His generosity is the reason the club have these facilities, management and squad.

As a football fan I'm not seeking respect from anyone else, as far as I'm concerned anyone who supports their local club is fine by me.

Spending too much compared to income is allowed and not cheating providing playing losses are under FFP rules.

Spending too much compared to income and having playing losses which are more than is allowed under FFP is cheating. (this is what QPR and Bournemouth did)

If we do go up and our losses are still under permitted losses on the playing side under FFP, then we will not have cheated to get there.

Clubs are allowed to make losses (both FFP counted losses and a different figure for overall losses) and by doing so, are not cheating.

If we haven't cheated and other clubs have, why should we stop calling them cheats?

Ah ok thanks for that, I have not followed nor cared too much about FFP rules, I am of the opinion that each clubs boardroom have enough wealthy businessmen, clever accountants, lawyers and snake oil slalesman to ultimately to do what they want anyway.

I agree, however I was commenting on those that are quick to criticise other football clubs whilst not being self criticle of a £20 million loss which has a similar dynamic than those contravening FFP rule's ( accepting the difference being that we are not ).

Someone gets it!! Hallelujah!

Let me start by saying I've no truck with either of you.

That having been said it should be duly pointed out that both TB and PB stated the clubs public stance on the amendments to the FPP considerations tabled and now in place for 16/17 onwards was one of concern and rejection. However they also said that they would accept the changes.

Their concerns surrounded exactly yours about the continuing belief that the current model is broken and unsustainable. But they recognised the need to loosen the purse strings to attempt to nullify the impact of competing with clubs still receiving parachute payments because otherwise an already not level playing field would become like playing up the north face of the Eiger.

One has to therefore assume that TB is capable, maybe reluctantly so, to plug the gap in line with the new regulations from his own pocket as allowed in order to give us the best chance of getting to the Premier League. Who are we to argue or disagree?

I will only worry IF he's no longer willing to do so, OR we end up reporting a large commercial loan instead of issuing new shares in exchange for more investment from TB, which presumably only happens at the agreement of the other shareholders anyway.

And whilst most of the posters on this thread are sucking off El Pres, you have come up with the best reply yet, without getting all sweaty under the armpits with me mentioning the words 'cheats'. If everyone had taken the question in the same light this thread would have lasted about two pages.

Apparently only monkeys and sheep know the difference, between a Paediatrician and a Psychoanylist. Amazing entertainment.

I'm still awaiting El Pres to show me where I troll, that was absolutely priceless. Come on son, show up when you're needed.

I'm feeling slightly bad about the fact that one of Sussex Nomad' s complaints against El Presidente is that EP is the only NSC moderator who is having a pop at him. As a moderator, I need to correct this impression.

Sussex Nomad is clearly one of the dimmest posters ever. If he could grasp the simple fact that an accounting loss is not the same as an FFP loss, I might think differently.

But no.

Dim, dim, dim.

troll
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument

Ok I see where you're coming from now, you seem to be provocative towards me, I guess you are trolling the troll. We could be doing this all day.

Google the meaning of provocation. I do admit to feeding the troll.

I've had a full english, I don't need feeding. However, and for your eyes only sweetcheeks, read my first message and subsequent replies to lovers of mods, oh and the thread title and tell me where I am trolling, I would be most pleased. Thank you kindly sir xx
