Are we allowed to rest large portions of the squad

If we have won the points to secure 4th, I think we can play who we like as long as they are a squad player. If we played a youth team fair enough but see no problem in playing El Abd Ankergren Painter JFC Crofts and kazenga. We can also justify bringing in a specialised RB from the development squad as bruno injured and calde suspended.

So....

Casper
Dev squad El Abd Greer Painter
Hammond Crofts
Kaz JFC Vicente
Barnes

Is that a weak team ?

That doesn't make any sense. There is nothing that would prevent Gus picking JFC ahead of Dicker. You are taking the rule far too literally.

This is the Football League we are talking about here, the application of their rules often makes no sense, who's to say they wouldn't apply this rule to the letter, especially when our game has a big part to play with the relegation battle.

I believe a club has to play at least 6 first team regulars in the team. That would allow Gus to rest a few of the squad.

I believe that too. We have a strong enough squad to dispose of Wolves anyway. Can't see us letting them take the piss.

Do we really have a weak team anymore as long as Harley doesn't play I don't see how it can be viewed as a weakened team when you can bring the likes of El Abd, Crofts, Vicente and Kaz into the team.
I reckon something like:
Casper
Calderon. El Abd Upson. Painter
Dicker. Crofts
Kaz. Vicente. Orlandi
Barnes

With PIG, Bridge, Greer, Hammond, Lopez, JFC, Leo on the bench.

That is not that weak.

For Wolves to stay up, Barnsley and Peterborough have to lose and Wolves have to win AND overturn Peterborough's 5-goal advantage. We could field the development squad and Wolves still wouldn't avoid relegation.

As an Albion fan, I'd like to see us win but I'd also be interested to see JFC and a few others get a chance.

Change Upson for Dunk. Calderon is suspended / iBruno injured, so use Dev squad.

Re Kaz / Orlandi - I basically wouldn't play any first 11 players unless they were completely fit and in no danger of getting tired out in the next week. Then I'd probably give them half a game each, to switch with another first 11 player.

If we lose this game because we've fielded a team with a significant number of non-first choice players I for one will be extremely pissed off. Momentum is key as we enter the payoffs and losing at home to the team second or third bottom in the table may seriously affect our confidence going forward into two or three of the most important games in this clubs history.

both Orlandi and Ulloa both appeared to take knocks late in the game at Leeds, so i wouldnt be surprised if they were both out tomorrow

Don't understand this argument. I have to attend a function on Friday and expect to get home around 3am. I will then be setting off for the match at 8am -a 400 mile round trip getting home around 8pm. Add to that I live in the heartland of Wolves support and have been stopped and even threatened by their sypportwrs in the last week or so........ putting aside the argument of being fair to the other teams fighting for survival I want my effort to be rewarded. I want to see a strong Albion team and a good win to see us into the playoffs in style. Nothing less than 100% of the best available with maybe some kids (JFC, March, Barker....) on the bench. :lolol:

I suspect some changes, but Gus won't disrespect the opponents, and will want momentum to take through. At home, last league game of the season, he'll want to finish with a 4-0 win.

As long as Koosh, Upson, Bridge,Orlandi, Buckley and Ulloa are rested I will be happy

I would have added Bridders but I gather Gus has already said he will play.

PIG, Bridge, Bridcutt, Bruno, Buckley, Crofts, Lualua, Ulloa, Vicente have all recently missed out on starting places due to slight injuries and had short term rests. Often such injuries are not 100% sorted and a further games rest is required at a later date.

Ankergren
Dave, El-Abd, Upson, Painter
Crofts, Hammond, Dicker, Orlandi
Barker, Barnes

A line-up like this couldn't be punished as all replacements have been involved recently in our matches and the others have knocks that have kept them out

I wouldn't recommend this. Normally I would agree, but the one position where Wolves do have strength is their wingers, especially Sako, who tends to switch between both wings. We wouldn't want to knock a youngster's confidence - especially with Wolves needing a few goals to have any chance of survival. Almost any other opponent, and I would have agreed with you.
