FTSE down another 2% today after yesterday's heavy falls. All major exchanges around world down. PIGS heading to meltdown, particularly Italy?

Are we all doomed Mr Mainwaring?

Thank God for the Albion!!

Yes, yes we are. Lets not let that stop us allowing banks to sieve the odd billion out to a few of its staff each year though.

Very good shout! And I'm sure we could all seek refuge in the Amex when we lose our houses! Will try to reserve a space for me and the family in Dick's Bar and wait for the food parcels to be personally delivered by the Mighty One!

Yes. The very nature of the banking system means it can't go on forever.

Times are a changin' me thinks.

The western ecomonic model is unsustainable in the long term - we may have reached the start of the long term.

And don't expect any politicians to;

a) admit this - political suicide
b) solve the problem -

I think you are right. The problem is that we are now so far down the line that no one actually has an answer.

As long as I can afford a pint, tickets for the albion and the odd live band I dont care too much. Oh and M and S mint humbugs.

It has been said before- the recovery is going to be more painful than the recession. We need to get used to it I guess.
