I don't think they are, sadly.

As shit as they are, with no league wins in 2023, three games in a row with no shots on target, SEGW well past his sell by date, Barndoor 90k a week Oddgoal Edouard unable to score more than about 3 goals in a calendar year and so on, that three point gap would take at least 7 matches to translate into a bottom 3 position, even if they lost all seven.

Maybe next season would be better anyway. They'll be even worse and we could send them on their way down with a 5-0, making our first ever European season a memorable one. Who knows, "Champions League football, you'll never sing that" or "You've never won f*** all" might get an airing if we finish top 4 or win the cup?

They have plenty of “easy” games to come - but those are real 6-pointers. The pressure will be on.
Regardless of whether they go down, it’s great fun to watch.
Also, I’m finding my nerves get too shredded by these Palace matches…I’d be quite happy for a few seasons of them in Division 2.

I think they are in the mix as other teams down there are showing signs of picking up results here and there but palace look like a team who can’t score goals. They are also playing a lot of the teams in and around the bottom in the run in so could easily find themselves in the shit.

It's weird that Chris Sutton thinks the opposite and feels it's an advantage that they are playing the lower teams. I tend to agree with your point though, could turn out very messy for them. My heart bleeds.

Considering most of the teams have a game in hand over them, and they are only three points above the drop zone, hell yes they are in the mix.
Those games that look easier people are mentioning are all very well, but lose a few of those or just draw and they could well go down.

Now that would be the icing on the cake, Europe and a possible cup final with them going down, I would take losing at home to Southampton if it meant they went above palace on the penultimate game of the season, could be a very interesting final game at home to Forest.

Yeah maybe. But it's more costly to lose to a team that's involved in the fight one is fighting.

Agreed, they actually played pretty well overall last night. Maybe they just raised their game for their Cup Final and hopefully will revert to being No Shots Palace again now.

I think they’ll stay up but I would like it to go to the last game of the season. We know from experience that there are no easy games against teams around you when you are in a relegation scrap.

I would prefer to see them stink out the premier league, go nowhere and lose to us twice a season.
Then, in a few years when they are truly broken, they can go down and stay down.

Lots of six pointers, though, and any slip up against teams around them will pull them further down towards the fiery couldron.

But for what it’s worth, i think we’d miss Palace if they went down, no?
