Lyme Regis
Wolverhampton at home were the worst for me

Worst at football, possibly. The worst in general. Obviously not.

Palace, Chelsea and Man U are the top 3 for that accolade.

Absolutely. The Forest was a freak when everything went against us as well as our own bad defending.
You don’t think starting with one midfielder who hadn’t played for weeks may have had something to do with it?
I’m all for yes the last three games have been an improvement but let’s not gloss over the fact Forest was a shambles.

Derby still hold the tag.

20 goals all season and only 11 of conceding 100

No one has come close to being that bad

Sheffield United last season were very close to being that bad, just 5 more points than that Derby side. Only lost 1 less game over the season and let in 104 goals a Premier League record, also tied the record with that Derby side for the worse GD in PL history with -69.

Forest fans would probably say we are...
In which case, they would be very stupid. Any team can have a cataclysmic result on a bad day. Southampton have twice lost 9-0 in the Premier League, but nobody would suggest that Saints incarnation was worse than the current one.

Yes, their performance yesterday influences my thinking, but it's not just that. It's their league position, with nine points by February, two wins and 21 (twenty one) defeats. Yesterday's result was not a one-off due to a bad day, but symbolic for me of how poor they were (it's frankly a miracle that Bournemouth only scored three, and actually let them score one recently).

Even that Wolves team that we beat 6-0 were nowhere near as bad as Saints, surely? I don't know what their final points total was but it must have been been considerably better than yesterday's opponents.

You look at what's happened to Luton this season- bottom of the Championship and as I type, losing 2-0 coming up to half time against their most hated rivals- and you have to think Southampton might be a tad worried that they could repeat that trick.

I think Swansea (Away) in 2017 holds that honour.

We were not at all good that day and thankfully Swansea did pretty much everything they possibly could to take no advantage of that and allow us to win.

They must be because this never normally happens to me, but I genuinely felt sorry for their fans yesterday. They are absolutely dog shìt. And they may have all got off early (who wouldnt) but it was a sellout. They've been watching that crap week in week out for the whole season. No one deserves that. Even those wurzels.
Same. The ones I could see took the “Pompey away” song in good humour, all credit to those who were there and especially the ones who stayed past 3-0, and the ones who sarcastically celebrated winning a corner like they’d just won the game too. All of which made the “you’ve seen the Albion” even more embarrassing than it often is

Well yes, won't gloss over the team selection which was suicidal. If we played saints 10 times in a row I think we'd win 8 or 9 of them. Played Forest 10 times in a row and we'd be fairly even?

I hate 'you've seen the albion' unless it's against United. And more latterly acceptable for Chelsea. You just cannot convince the lashed up yoof tho.

But are you going statistics versus actually watching?

Derby were poor statistically, but Southampton are hard on their heels and were simply awful yesterday, but arguably were more than worth their point at The Amex.

Whilst you are probably right, last seasons Sheff Utd team were fairly hopeless as well.

There were loads of empty seats in the stand to the right of us, at KO yesterday, and plenty of gaps around the ground. Tickets sold, maybe.

They are just the perfect storm for a team to head straight back down.

Promoted with 6 loan players in the squad. They spent £40m bringing in Downes and THB and signed Fraser on a free just to get the squad they started with. Bazunu had a long term injury, so they had to spend another £20m on Ramsdale. That was a bit of an upgrade, but no improvement to the outfield.

They were promoted with their top scorers being Armstrong and Che Adams, both decent Championship strikers who don't look special against EPL defenders. Adams went and they spent another £17m on bringing in Cameron Archer, who looks like the same standard of striker. C£80m spent to make the squad as good as it was in the Championship.

That squad had finished fourth, effectively ten points off automatic promotion. Promotion through the play offs meant that they were starting late in the transfer market and a young, fairly unknown manager had little draw to bring in players.

Martin was a manager who refused to be pragmatic and his squad wasn't good enough to play the way he insisted on playing in the division, so they struggled, not winning a game until November. They also couldn't grind out draws to start to build confidence (Us excepted of course).

The board dithered between sticking with Martin, taking the relegation and trying to come back with a bit more money and experience, or replacing him and bringing in a pragmatic relegation battler. They left it too long and then brought in someone with no experience of the EPL and little recent experience of fighting relegation.

The new manager wants to play a high pressing style that they don't have the players to play. He has struggled to get senior players on board and has been hit by injuries to key players. He's playing players out of position and they look like they have little fight and no belief.

We got them when on their knees and yesterday was probably an exceptionally bad day, but they are currently awful. However, I don't think that the predictions of them sinking through the leagues will come true. They'll need to get a manager who suits the players, or some players who suit the manager. The former seems more likely. Unlike Luton, they are a very rich club in Championship terms and their squad will look a lot better in that division. With parachute payments and transfer money from the likes of Dibling and Ramsdale, they'll be in a strong position to go again next season.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they took a risk on giving a highly thought of club legend with a bit of England U21 coaching experience a first (permanent) shot at management. Perhaps they can find one with a history of working under Klopp, Poch, RDZ, Potter etc. I think he'd make a go of it.

I actually think the worst PL side I’ve seen were Luton in the opening game at the Amex last season. We were rusty, barely got out of second gear and yet absolutely battered them. They were woeful.

Fair play, they improved as they got used to the league.
I came to post this. They were like a deer caught in the headlights however they improved massively as the season went on and battered us in the return fixture.

Yesterday we saw a team who couldnt compete in anyway shape or form with the tactics they were playing. I think we will soon see a shift in teams playing the low block all season again in the hopes to stay up. Some recent attempts to stay up have been woeful.

I hate the You've seen the Albion chant. We were so critical of the arrogance of other PL fans which, the season or so after we were promoted, were often heard saying things like "our fans are only here to watch the opposition team play" but now we are doing the same with that chant.

Shame i didn't think of it until too late after the game but i wish we'd sung " where were you when you were good " to their fans though

Agree entirely.

The only club that deserve it sung ‘at them’ are Man Utd
