aww..come on. Letting agents aren't half as bad as recruitment consultants.

Interesting wider point: Are "Friends Of The Albion" just companies who have paid money to the Albion for the name, or do they actually have to come recommended? ???

It was just a case of pay your money and you'll get listed when I was doing it.

I suspect for most it's just a way of giving money to the club in a tax efficient way. I cannot recall getting one bit of business from friends of the albion, shirt sponsorship or ground advertising.

I wonder what Frank's view on letting agents and their mothers would be?

Not strictly true to be honest - I used to work for an agent who weren't members of ARLA, and I can honestly say I never theived anyones deposit.

No but sadly many do. I have come across a vast number of letting agents who have great big holes in their client funds or worse still no client fund at all.

The only way you can be certain that this won't happen is if the agent is a member of ARLA and as a result all deposits are covered under their scheme and the client accounts are audited.

I can recommend the busty lovely in Lampons on St Georges Road but I wouldn't go as far as recommending them as a letting agent as they're just like all the rest.

The girl however is phenomenally attractive

We are hopefully moving soon, and went to look at a place in Brighton a few days ago.

It was £575 a month, for what was described as a 1 bedroom flat.

It was more like a large rabbit hutch for hire.

They wanted 6 weeks deposit, plus a months rent, plus £115 per person to do credit checks etc.

We then told them we had 2 pet rats, in a cage. They said yes, you can have pet rats, but they will be another £200 deposit.

The robbing gits.

Out of interest VH - whereabouts was the flat, I have one which the tenant has just served notice to leave, for around that rent.

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Obviously I am biased, but private landlords are generally pretty easy to deal with, if you are renting unfurnished its better, because what is there to break ?

Landlords have to take a deposit because a lot of tenants just simply dont give a f***.

At the end of the day the way I would look on a deposit is something you will only get back if you look after the place, if you dont then you have no complaints.

I have to say most disputes I have generally get ironed out, private landlords will spend more time looking at credit checks/references so our tennant/landlord relationship tends to be more informal, letting agents wont as they have to ensure their clients costs are covered with interest.
