I am sorry to say, his speech on this made him look like rather silly. He seemed to be implying he was responsible for AI and it would save us, as if no other country will be using it and as if he was the inventor. I still think we need a change of PM very soon, he has disappointed me on so many levels, he is destroying what labour are all about.Starmer on AI... inspirational
If he is expecting the civil service & NHS to come up with a workable system which doesn't cost an arm & a leg, take years to happen then not work properly, he is sorely mistaken. How many billions did the NHS squander on a new IT system which ended up being junked?Implementing A.I is a great thing as long as there is a strategy with clear objectives along with a clear understanding of what implementing it should achieve/deliver. It is not a single silver bullet and I think in it's current form is best delivered as a support tool to humans (who can check its work).
Since ChatGPT became popular a few years ago many businesses have been in touch with the company I work for with an interest in A.I type tech. I went to a rather large Insurance company and in the first meeting with some relatively senior people was told that they don't know what A.I is but they know they need it along with the savings it brings. They had no strategy or plan and we told them without a plan or them giving us some direction as to where we should start we wouldn't be able to help them. (They attended one of our conferences at the end of 2024 and told us they had spent tens of millions with a competitor who had only delivered promises and are now trying to get out of the contract)
I will try and look at the detail of what the government are planning later but I am not filled with confidence and wouldn't be surprised if Starmer is just throwing buzzwords out.

Maybe, but you wouldn't want Cooper as PM, would you!Given his background I think (admittedly with hindsight) that he would be better suited to Home Secretary
I was no fan of Boris Johnson and the rest of the then government but they didn't really have a manual to read from when Covid came round. There does need to be a proper inquiry as to what worked and what didn't at the time so we know better for next time.Covid cost between £310 billion and £410 Billion depending on which figures you take.
WASPI compensation is peanuts by comparison.
Highligted line is main issue here - say one thing in oppostion - do opposite when in power.
He could have had a ruddy good go.Not even Corbyn would have crashed the economy this hard.
Fallen into the Tory trap, so if she does go now they will be all over it.Just been confirmed that RR will remain for this Parliament, fantastic news.
Stupid, he's locked himself into a corner now. They don't learn.Just been confirmed that RR will remain for this Parliament, fantastic news.
You would have to say, a reshuffle is needed in most posts, particularly Keir's. I can't forgive him for the pensioners winter fuel payments, I was hoping he would admit he had went a step to far and do a U turn. But when he accepted all the freebies this damaged him hugely.Given his background I think (admittedly with hindsight) that he would be better suited to Home Secretary
In fairness.. the remoaners and labour wanted this..Labour going to turn this around?
Good one..
I've never voted in my life!
He is level par with Truss
So - whom on the Labour benches would you have instead? You would have to say, a reshuffle is needed in most posts, particularly Keir's. He doesn't have the integrity of a true labour leader.
Net immigration has INCREASED since Brexit (2022 was double that of 2015) - what's that got to do with 'remoaners?'In fairness.. the remoaners and labour wanted this..
Retirement age will have to go up to 70 as we're gaining an extra million immigrants each year without the facilities to do so..
NHS can't cope.. roads and schools can't cope.. housing can't cope.. well done
Starmer!

Also, nothing whatsoever to do with Labour and the last six months.
I don't know, but I do know they are sinking our party forever if something doesn't happen. I was told Reform polled level with us, which is shocking. Who would you feel more confident with that can pull this around ?So - whom on the Labour benches would you have instead?

Some, but relatively small in context of the overall figure.Isn’t this due to Ukraine and HK, refugees escaping tyrannies?
I don't particularly feel 'unconfident' with Starmer. I'm not the one calling for a reshuffle!I don't know, but I do know they are sinking our party forever if something doesn't happen. Why? He has lost the voter completely?I don't particularly feel 'unconfident' with Starmer. I'm not the one calling for a reshuffle!
