Funnily enough, that's what JS and myself thought while we were filming it.
It must have been the angle (even watching it live), cos as soon as it swung into place you couldn't have put a fag paper between them.

Didn't NJ say that all the dogs heads had to be accurate to within 5mm otherwise nothing would fit properly. All very clever stuff
