A Nazi style israeli stae. Are you serious?

If you use the langauge of exstremists and parrot their propganda then people will draw conclusions.

If I refered to Haiti as a "****** state" would it be reasonable to assume i was a racist and a bnp supporter?

You refer to the "murder" of hamas officials, an avowed anti-semetic organisation and terrorist one shows were your loyalty lies.

A state that grant priviledges/ rights to one section/ race/ ethnic grouping of a community but denies them to another would undoubtedly be a racist/ nazi-style state as apartheid South Africa for instance - I'm sure you wouldnt disagree with that?!

So tell me where Israel differs from the above description?

Do Israeli Arabs have exactly the same priviledges and rights as their Jewish Israeli brothers??!!

Btw I'm still waiting for you to show me how I support Al- quida, as you call them?!

Yes, you're right on that aspect BB, Israel has lurched to the right in recent times, and the Peace Now movement in Israel is in the minority. However, do you suppose that the 60 or 70 katuysha rockets that landed on Israeli border towns daily, prior to the Gaza invasion might have played it's part in he scheme of things. As I've said on previous threads, i am sympathetic to the Palestinians plight, having been to israel myself many times, but it's simple, if you aspire to peace, stop sending rockets into Israel from Gaza and S. Lebanon, stop blowing up cafes in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv etc, stop provoking Israel into responding, and you might get the peace that most people either Palestinian or Jewish want. Violence just plays into the hands of the extremists on both sides.

Just saying like.

I understand what you are saying BUT Israel keeps expanding its settlements in the West Bank, the 'peace wall' cuts deeper into Palestinian terroritory rather than just keeping to internationally recognised borders, the people of Gaza are being denied food, medicines and basic human rights - if I was a young Palestinian I, in the words of U2 about a different time and land, 'would be ready to take up arms again (my) oppressor'!!

What would you do? Sit back while Israel stels everything around you and ignores international law?!

Just asking like?

Firstly they have all the same rights as Israeli Jews, they also have the option of opting out of compulsory military service so if anything they have priveleges. So its got f*** all to do with some quasi apartied system.

Ive already explained to you, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, good chance it is a duck.

UAE aid to earthquake-hit Haiti on the way

WAM Published: 00:00 January 19, 2010

Dubai: A UAE Red Crescent relief plane will land on Tuesday at Port-au-Prince, the capital city of Haiti, from Panama.

It will carry 45 tonnes of medicine, medical staff, food and relief supplies purchased from the local market in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

The first 100-tonne aid plane of the UAE air bridge to relieve quake victims in Haiti will leave Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

In the same time, a delegation from UAE Red Crescent Authority will be heading on Wednesday to Haiti via Dominican Republic to coordinate the relief distribution to the victims.

Mohammad Al Qamzi, secretary-general of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, said that the UAE relief agency is intensifying its efforts to alleviate suffering of the earthquake victims in implementation of directives given by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for delivery of humanitarian assistance to Haiti.

He added that the RCA is working on several aspects to satisfy the growing needs of the victims.

Etihad Crystal Cargo will operate a special Red Crescent and Khalifa Welfare Foundation charter flight to Haiti on tomorrow, carrying medical and humanitarian supplies to the earthquake-hit country.

The MD11 aircraft, which will use its full capacity of 88 tonnes, will fly first to Casablanca and then onto Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

The cargo will be unloaded there and taken to neighbouring Haiti.

The charter flight is part of the Care By Air initiative, founded by Maximus Air Cargo, Etihad Airways and Abu Dhabi Airport Services, which provides cargo space "at cost" to deliver relief aid to disaster-stricken areas around the world.

Ahmad Humaid Al Mazroui, Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent, said: "Our mission is to mobilise humanitarian forces to aid those in need and the situation in Haiti is probably the worst in the world right now and we need to get help there urgently.

"In these desperate times I am pleased the Care By Air partners have been able to work together to bring this much needed help to the people of Haiti."

Fantastic that the UAE Red Cross have sent aid. The recipients of the aid are of course not concerned who sends the aid, so long as it is forthcoming. Many charities from around the world have given support & aid which is to be applauded.

However, what have the UAE Government contributed I ask?

Its the UAE red cresent not red cross and the UAE has traditionally been more liberal and compassionate. I doubt that the emirates will donate money, what you should be asking is how much do the emirates donate to the red crescent steve Foster.

As Looney rightly says, it's the Red Crescent, not the Red Cross. Different names, but similar humanitarian aims.

If "the recipients of the aid are of course not concerned who sends the aid, so long as it is forthcoming", it's questionable whether it really matters whether it's a UAE aid organisation that contributes or another party. The fact is that there's practical support coming from this part of the world.

Here's a little of the Wikipedia entry on International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai, set up in 2007 by Royal Decree:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Humanitarian_City

"International Humanitarian City (IHC) is a global humanitarian and aid hub, which aims to facilitate aid and development efforts by providing local and international humanitarian actors with facilities and services specifically designed to meet their needs.

An independent free zone authority created by the Government of Dubai through the merger of Dubai Aid City (DAC) and Dubai Humanitarian City (DHC), IHC addresses the specific needs of the humanitarian aid and development community, while grouping them in a secure environment that fosters partnerships, social responsibility and global change.

IHC is a non-religious, non-political and nonprofit organisation, chaired by Jordanian Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates."

A link to their website is below - there is a news ticker providing updates on Haiti and other countries.

Yes indeed, BoF. She's a big supporter of sport (as is her husband) - IOC member no less. She's at the back of this photo from the Rugby 7s World Cup where she was Guest of Honour:

I look forward to the Albion team meeting her after their successful World Club Championship trip to Abu Dhabi in 2016.

What a complete load of rollocks you spout.
Been to Israel or Palestine? No I suspect. I will be there in two weeks time & will see what life is like for the downtrodden Arabs who total 350 million by the Jewish nation of some 7 million.

You do spout some utter .....

Steve - yes I've been to Israel once and experienced at first hand the endemic racism of the place.

Been to see Rangers v Hapoel and on leaving our hotel an Arab taxi driver started to pull up but was hounded away by, I kid you not, a black African (Ethiopian 'Jew'?!) in the most vile racist language!!

I went and found myself another taxi - Arab, of course!!

Yeah but in the f***ing REAL WORLD they dont have the same rights!

Why in East Jerusalem in the last year or so have building permits been granted to 1,000+ Jews but only about 100 Palestinians - as admitted on TV (Panorama or something?) this week by the mayor of Jerusalem?!

You either talk shit on purpose or you really haven't got a clue!!

I am not sure why I didn't say this before, but using this disaster that has claimed the lives of 150,000+ to strengthen your show of obvious dislike of the Arab nations is VERY, VERY LOW.

You might have got on very well with Buba.

I saw on this mornings news that the Israelis pulled someone out of the rubble alive after a week after the earthquake.

I suspect in response the Saudian Arabian government are contemplating their response to the appeal by writing a second letter of sorrow.

A massive difference between the cultures & views of life. 98% of the Middle East is Arab & the 2% that is not, many of the Arabs want to live there. I wonder why?

Go to Israel, take a holiday, visit the sights & then your views may change

Mr Thicky here doesn't know the difference between an Arab and a Muslim. I imagine the Turks, Kurds and Iranains would be surprised to discover they are Arabs.

Who is calling these people Arabs, not me?
Go & get an encyclopedia buddy. Of the lands that the Arab (& no not other peoples live in, there is one dot of democracy, called Israel, which a very large minority of Arabs live in!
