I noticed they don't do mechanics, but they should put you in touch with a training provider who does.

Sent an email to the address at the bottom of the page to see what he has to say...(fingers crosseD)

How soon is now?
Hev you tried Ricardo, a good place to start engineering. I did a YTS 17 years ago and got out after 2 years, it was horrific . I have good mate who works for Frosts and he's had enough, he's been there years and is well respected by colleagues - but as with everything, the company is bleeding the workers for more and more.

I was an apprentice mechanic, 5 years of sweeping up and changing tyres. Before the days of a minimum wage too.

Ha..Yes £100k, pick your hours, saucy housewifes..looks great doesn't it..?

Don't believe all that you see in the papers, the market is flooded with people who have spent £4k buying their way into 4 week courses.
They then go out to the real world, fighting with Polaks who will churn a bathroom refit for £400..

Mind you, more work for me when it goes wrong..

I was in the same situation as you in 1969. I went round a few of the local garages in Worthing and in the words of Yosser Hughes I said "give us a job" H.D. Steele and Son did. My advice to you is times change but try the same, if the answers no it doesn't hurt, keep looking, good luck.

Similar advice to mine, show a potential employer that you are prepared to get off your arse and go out looking for opportunities, eventually someone will be impressed by your efforts...probably someone who did the very same thing themself.
