I think with the top clubs, you can't settle for average. OGS is an average manager, at best.

City & Liverpool are fighting it out with absolutely no other competition, largely because of their world class managers in Guardiola & Klopp respectively.

The next best manager in the league is surely Pochettino, which is why Spurs will likely finish 3rd place.

If Man Utd are to ever return to their former glory, they need another world class manager, who are currently in short supply at the moment. OGS won't last next season.

Man Utd have tried the world class manager approach and it didn't work out how they wanted

We can watch it on the telly (as long as it doesn't clash with a Championship fixture).

According to their forum, they have some under and complete non performers, who are on huge pay, which need sorting out too. An issue is that modern players hold all the aces; they don’t tear up contracts.

Which just goes to show, their players can turn it on and off as they wish. What a bunch of over indulged, lazy, selfish ****.

This pattern has happened before. Players get rid of a manager they don't like by playing like a bunch of demented penguins. Someone who lets them do what they want comes in temporarily. Players turn it on and win a load of games. Manager is then appointed permanently and starts trying to implement his own ideas. Players decide they no longer like the manager and return to their original approach. The only solution is to get rid of the players that are causing the rot - and be sure you've appointed the right manager to take you forward when they are gone. Not sure Man Utd will do the first or have done the second.

Interesting....yes, Chelsea and ManU under Maureen. Leicester under several managers.....seems as if it spreads like a virus and re-emerges like shingles or malaria. A clear out is the only solution.

It's a really interesting one and you make a good point....Even ferguson wasn't an instant success and given what followed we often forget that.

Ferguson struggled for four years. He took over a United side that (allegedly) had a terrible drinking culture within its ranks. I’ll let you guess which names spring to mind regarding that. In fact he was minutes away from the sack as United were losing to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup in 1990 and got a late equaliser. From there United went on to win the cup beating THEM up the road. After that it was a trophy a season, almost, for Fergie and Man Utd. Love him or loathe him there is no doubt that he is the most successful manager in English football.

He was doing ok until he bought Lukaku back and Rashford went out wide again.

And De Gea is looking very average behind that dodgy defence. Not sure I would want any of their defenders in our back line.

I disagree (surprise, surprise). I think he will make a good manager for them lot. Like Ferguson he needs time to stamp his mark. He is making all the correct off field decisions in surrounding himself with Utd stalwarts and taking his advice from Ferguson. I think, long term, he will be the correct appointment.
...in ensuring Manchester United cement sixth place in the Premier League for the next couple of seasons.

This.

Any excuse, for some, to describe Liverpool as 'bin dippers'

Lazy prejudice is not a virtue. FFS.

Anyway, back to hubcaps. Calm down. Gizza job. Eh, Eh?

Any chance you could give up the ‘being a saint’ impression?
