But you said "Labour are turning this country into a police state".
Where's your evidence for that then? Genuinely curious. I mean you DO have your eyes open obviously so it will be straight forward for you to prove this.
I know your question wasn't directed at me, though I will try to answer it.
I definitely don't see it as a 'blue' or a 'red' thing, but I do see continuation of governments becoming more autocratic and authoritarian, even in this country.
Just by way of example

Journalists Are Being Arrested Under Anti-Protest Laws
The government's authoritarian anti-protest laws aren't only targeting peaceful political demonstrations – they're being used to target journalists reporting on them, too.

It stands to reason, to me at least, that if there is a growing number of people who don't see eye to eye with ingrained and continuing Government policies, whether Tory or Labour, (and perhaps the example given above is not the best) then Governments may seek to subdue them, and that would have to be done discreetly.
Media would and do also play a huge part in the bias of how they report demonstrations etc.
You would then also need to take this quote from @Peteinblack into account, as to me it's implied they should not now be in prison
Yet it was the Tories who criminalised peaceful protests to silence environmentalists, some of whom are now in prison.
