..I do hope so I really really do.

But as my Grand mother used to say to my Grandad when he insisted he would not get drunk on Christmas day 'I'LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT'

This is nothing to do with The Argus not having a game to review this morning or Naylor having to justify his moderate salary!!

Falmer dream almost a reality (From The Argus)

AWAY FANS The 2,500-seater south end, closest to Village Way (the access road into the University) and right next to the coach park. Perry said: “They will be in the same county as the pitch".
If only the coach park was in the same county ... we wouldn't have had all the trouble getting approval.

Interesting about no under soil heating and probably right as well

Can't believe they're still saying that... Up there on the downs it's probably 3 or 4 degrees cooler than the withdean, we'll have LOADS of matches called off.

Do you think that is so ?

Be a bit of an own goal to build a new stadium if games are likely to be called off due to frost

Sounds terrific doesn't it.
Shame it'll never happen, as there's no money in place to actually build it.

We dont need undersoil heating and we wont have too many games called off.

At Withers the trees block the sun for alot of the day during the winter meaning that its cooler than other areas around the stadium and we dont have that many games called off.

Look at some of the Northen teams that dont have under soil heating and hom many games do they have called off?

It says the pipework and ducting will be in place, so should it be decided we *need* it, then it can be installed without ripping the pitch up.

Good compromise, imo.

I don't know which northern teams have undersoil heating... I just know that often, when I've been for a walk on the Downs (yes, the stadium is on the downs, just not an unspoilt part) of a Sunday afternoon, the ground is often still hard as a rock with frost... and that's ground that is open to sunlight, not surround by big stands and burried into the hillside.

What in August?

I know the weathers cold here sometimes, bvut I reckon there's more of a chance of a waterlogged pitch rather than frost in the middle of August!
