I fuckin hated this week, Warsaw can naff off with their lies and betrayal. The only thing worse than unnecessary pessimism is misplaced optimism, as exhibited by Warsaw on a stupefying level. All that bollocks about woodburners on the pitch (although an image with connotations of medieval romanticism) was a load of mushy guff - it was obvious the pitch would freeze, the temperatures overnight for Friday were always going to be well below zero. If they'd abandoned their amateur posturing and just accepted it wasn't gonna happen we'd all have saved time, sleep, money and annoyance.

I have to say it is a lot colder in Sussex that London at present and last night.

If the Walsall covers are anything like those at Withdean, then there was no chance. You have to do a little bit extra in these conditions, like Gillingham last Sunday ( 3-4 layers of matting )
The single tarpaulin might keep the moisture off at Wimbledon but it aint no bloody good v frost.
I assume there won't be undersoil heating at Falmer but if anyone knows different please inform.
