I won't claim to have coined it, but a mutual friend of mine and Gritt23's certainly did (he doesn't actually post on here, but I think he's an occasional lurker). It has become a much-loved figure of speech amongst us over the years, peppers our text messages, and eventually began being used excessively by me and Gritt23 on here as well.

I'll give Gritty a prod, and he will no doubt post the full story and circumstances behind the now legendary phrase "Marvellous Scenes", being as he actually heard it from the horses mouth. Something to do with a special sporting occasion being described and relayed over the phone I think, but Gritt23 knows the tale better than me.

Count me in for a tenner if we're doing a banner by the way. I would be literally MOIST with excitement at seeing that come off.
Top bombing TLO...lets DO IT.

Give me a prod indeed! Tex messages at 1am!!! Okay fella, I've given in to your pressure, and the story can be found at

Not quite. It was either Johnners or Blowers who said "the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey..." (Michael Holdng is now a cricket commentator on Sky. Peter Willey is now a well-respected test umpire.)

:D :D :D

It was was also Henry Blofeld who said, after a batsman had been hit in the gonads with the fifth delivery of the over, "yes, he's OK. Well, here we go, one ball left..."

Anyway, I will confirm delivery date and prices asap Monday morning.
