Identifying talent part of the role, how much talent is required? I appreciate referees on the pitch have a tough job, but sat watching incidents from multiple angles, with an assistant referee, should be a f***ing doddle.

I thought the desirable part was interesting:

Desirable:

· Experience of working in a football or NGB environment.
· Experience of professional-level football refereeing.
· Experience in a sports-related management role.
· 'Big Six' Bias
· Proven ability in ordering Pizzas for half time refreshments

They could just pick someone off the street at random, and it'd be a guaranteed improvement

Interesting, though. Is this a new role, or has someone else "left their job"? And does it mean that whilst we've been wailing and whining like wronged toddlers at the injustice of it all, the grown-ups have been quietly going about the business of looking for broader fixes?

It loos like an admin job to me. They won't be making VAR decisions. Nothing to see here
