You can with ordinary shoes I suppose, but having worn boat shoes 52 weeks of the year for the last 40 years, it just doesn't seem right.

still wearing shorts and will crack on until my busters turn blue

I wear shorts evenings and weekends all year round, I even clear the paths of the snow wearing them! I dont actually think it is possible for your legs to feel cold......feet yes, but legs, dont ever remember my legs feeling cold....

But........wear jeans to football!!

I maintain that my legs are better off in shorts in the wet.

They get wet they dry off.
Wearing trousers they eventually get wet and remain wet all the time the trousers are on.
