Try this. Especially if you’re an official terrace song-starter.

In your head - or out loud - pick the highest note you can sing comfortably.

That's your GO, as in “GO-ing up and we'll win the Cup”

That same GO note, but an octave lower - is the starting note for your Doo-Doos.

It really works. Try it now. Do it on the day, and you'll sing the Albion's famous song in one, with no trouble at all.

For Chrissake, let's lose that embarrassing, crappy, "I can't even sing my own club's song properly", Strangled Seagull Squawk now!

All feedback welcome.

30,000 singing SBTS together will be awesome…

It's a campaign to get us making maximum impact - through 30,000 Sussex voices singing together on a national stage.

This actually IS important, for the sake of club pride. It's the Albion's unique song. Why screw it up when - if you mentally sing that "GO-ing up" bit first - it's just as easy to do it properly, in one, with no screeching key changes ever needed?

Everyone knows West Ham fans sing Bubbles perfectly, and atmospherically. We can create a similar effect... as long as the leaders start at the right pitch, and sing at the right speed.

Anyone up for that?

You're right of course but once the singing gets started it takes on a pace all on its own!

It's hard enough getting people to sing "Oh we're going up, AND we'll win the cup" instead of the bastardised version (to win the cup).

As much as I admire your efforts-I think you are on a loser unless somebody gets 30,000 songsheets printed out.

Sincerely hope your efforts make a difference.

Can some one post the link again to the words I've printed them recently but not sure of the link, even printing off a few each we could pass round. They are sure to play it in full over the stadium pa and would be great if a few hundred sang the right words.

I reckon GT and Dave the Gaffer should arrange a rehearsal so we can get the harmonies worked out also.

All 31,000 going to Cardiff in Preston Park on Friday night, 7.30 sharp. I'll bring my the Horsham Brass Band along. :jester:

Must admit I always have sung "to WIN the cup", just seems more natural to me. Does it REALLY make that much difference?
I think there'll be enough fans all over our side of the stadium singing to get everyone else involved.
My wifes coming and I shall be giving her a crash course in all the songs over the next few days.

I've got Krispies in my block at Cardiff.

I have been known to start songs (haven't I Turkey?) but I can't sing over him :lolol:

I will have a word on the train and try to explain octaves and thirds to him :jester:

Well done, Yorkie! Hmmm.. Octaves? Suggest as in Hi - Hooooo (intro to Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's off to work we go, as opposed to Silver Lining of that ilk).

Thirds? As in, er, - what the hell! Just get him to sing a high but do-able note and, as you well know, that precise note (but an octave lower) is where he starts his doo-doos. I refer enquirers to my original post.

Where I live, they're no doubt suppposed to sing Glad All Over - but it's just too damned embarrassing.

30,000 people DONT read NSC though, theres only just over 2000 members, a percentage of those are duplicates/other team fans. Getting this message to all the fans is simply not possible on a webboard, try getting a small piece in the Argus or on Meridian if you want some impact!

Common sense prevails!

10,000 singing GOSBTS is a good start! The remaining 20,000 will soon catch on and get caught up in the atmosphere.

And we'll win the cup
For Sussex by The Sea
