imho for the money you wont get a better value luxury vehicle , if you buy a bmw / merc / jag in the same market sector you dont get all the features that you get standard on the is250 , test drive one you will be very impressed , also check out the multi media stereo/sat nav/dvd system fitted in most models very impressive

I have already test driven one and I liked it. I want the multi media package, silver, black interior, sunroof, auto, SE...............

I certainly would not disagree with value for money comment. My first lexus was the original IS200SE, then upgraded it for an RX300 2.5 years ago.

I cannot fault either car in terms of comfort, equipment and reliability. Only downside of both cars is fuel economy, which I guess you cannot complain based on engine sizes.

I have recently taken out the GS300 and IS220D on test drives. I am not sure which I will get within the next 3-4 months.
